XI-INNOVATIVE

Good day everyone, I am here in front of you to deliver my speech about the
character first in Bayawan City. But first, I would like to ask you, what is
character? Well, character is one such quality of individuals and it is what defines
us as a person. Bayawan City is known as a city of character. Bayawanons really
do their job when they are given a task. They are workhard people and do
everything just to achieve the best for the society. Especially the youth. But some
of the people wonder why Bayawan City is the city of character.

Bayawan City already did a lot of projects. Kampo Kinaiya is one of the
most exciting event that happens every year in Bayawan because all youth
organizations can join. It is one of the ways to improve the character of the youth.
They can get a lot of learnings and they would know how to mingle with others.
How ironic is it right? Bayawan City really do things to help us youth develop our
character. According to Dr. Jose P. Rizal “ang kabataan ang pag-asa nang bayan”,
which is true. But sometimes I’m wondering if we youth are really the hope of
town because as what I have observe, teenagers nowadays are under of early
pregnancy, drugs, marital sex, alchohol and most of all is technology. School days
to weekdays gadgets are always on our faces. We don’t even go to church because
we prefer to stay at home to play with our gadgets. That’s why some of us don’t
know how to value people and our character is no longer in place.

Your character is your image, it portrays the real you, who you are. So as a
youth of Bayawan City, we should adapt good character to ourselves because
character attracts trust and people will be attracted to you if you have a good
character and wherever we may go character must be our lead.
