How to Reduced Traffic Jam in Depok

Depok is a city which most of the residents have a personal vehicles. One family at
least has a motorcycle and a car, sometimes even more. This is causing some traffic
problems. Even though the goverment already operates one way system in some congestion
points, our traffic problems haven’t reducing at all. Currently some congestion points in
Depok have our concern because of some serious traffic jam that need to be solved.

First, the goverment should operates some programs that reducing vehicles amount.
Some programs such as car free day and three in one system can be applied. Depok’s
goverment only applied car free day for civil servants every week at Tuesday. The
goverment should implements car free day not only for the civil servants but also for the
general public. In busy hours, such as 6 a.m. until 8 a.m. and 5 p.m until 8 p.m. the three in
one system can be apllied in some congestion ponts such as Margonda raya Road and
Sawangan Raya Road.

Second, the goverment should handles public transportation problems. Many people
dislike get into public transportations because public transportations are uncomfortable and
dangerous. Sometimes public transportation is the major cause of traffic jam. The
goverment should make a better public transportations that make people feel safe and
comfortable. The regulations for public transportations must be strict. After the problems
are handled, the goverment should increase the public transportations amount.

Third, the citizens must be encourage to reduced the application of motorcycles and
cars. The citizens can use bicycles. Using bicycles not only reduced traffic jam but also
reduced pollutions. The other way is to accustom a habit to walk in the street. Walking in
the street makes our body healthier. In developed countries people usually walk in the
street and get on public transportations. That is why traffic jam is rarely found.

Our city, Depok will only get crowded and crowed. If Depok gets more crowded
that means the traffic jam will only be worst. Operates some programs that reducing
vehicles amount, handles public transportations problems, and encourage to reduced the
application of motorcycles and cars could be use as the ideas to reduce traffic problems.
The people will be happier living in Depok if the traffic jam could be reduced.
