BURN Notice

From time to time, you may end up with a BURN notice on the screen of your Instant Pot®. This
indicates that there is either not enough liquid in the Instant Pot® for it to pressurize or there is food
stuck to the bottom of the inner pot that is preventing the Instant Pot® from pressurizing. If this
happens, release the pressure and open the lid. Use a spatula to remove any food stuck to the bottom of
the pot and add ½ cup more liquid. Then just close the lid and restart the cooking process as described
in the recipe.
To prevent the BURN notice from happening, make sure to deglaze your inner cooking pot with liquid
after using the Sauté function. You should also make sure you are using at least 1 cup liquid for the
mini and 6-quart models and 1½ cups of liquid for the 8-quart model. The liquid does not have to be
water; any thin liquid will work.
