ABL2 plate switch mode power supplies

Presentation
rd
ABL2REM series of switch mode power supplies adopt the 3 generation of switch
mode power supply design technologies with a small and exquisite bulk and stable
performance, used to provide the DC voltage necessary for electrical equipment
operating on a safety low voltage. This series of power supplies are able to satisfy all the
demands of standard commercial equipment and meet the current standards throughout
the world. As the equipment groupware, it has advantages of being easy in installation
and suited to different mounting needs on different application occasions.

ABL2REM switch mode power supplies are totally electronic and regulated. They provide the
following benefits:
● Compact bulk to save the mounting space (35W/50W/100W/150W)
● Wide range of input voltage (AC88-264V and DC110-370V. Different power ranges differ.
See the product parameters for details.)
● Stable output voltage, adjustable by the potentiometer.
● Conformity to Standard EN 55022 Class B.
● Overload, short-circuit, overvoltage and superheat protections (the superheat protection is
suitable for 200-350W)
● All models have the mounting accessories with standard guides.

ABL2REM switch mode power supplies provide 24V DC output and have following products
with seven power ranges:
DC 24V 35W, 50W, 100W, 150W, 200W, 250W and 350W

Electromagnetic compatibility
Levels of conducted and radiated emissions are defined in Standards EN 55011 and EN
55022.
The switch mode power supplies in the ABL2REM range are Class B, the strictest level.

Behaviour in the event of short-circuits

ABL2 power supplies are equipped with electronic and thermal overload protection. This
protection resets itself automatically on elimination of the fault, which avoids having to take any
action or change a fuse.

Descriptions
ABL 2REM regulated switch mode power supplies comprise:
1 Two fixing holes for M3 screws.
2 A 115/230 V input voltage selector (on 150 W, 200 W, 250 W and 350 W versions only).
2
3 A 4 mm screw clamp terminal block for connection of the AC input voltage and DC output
voltage.
4 A green LED indicating the presence of DC output voltage.
5 An output voltage adjustment potentiometer (± 10 %).

Output characteristics
Derating
The ambient temperature is a determining factor which limits the power an electronic power
supply can deliver continuously. If the temperature around the electronic components is too high,
their life will be significantly reduced.
The nominal ambient temperature in the ABL2REM range of power supplies is +45°C (horizontal
mounting) or +50°C (vertical mounting with the terminal block leftwards and the venthole
upwards). Above this temperature, it starts derating to the highest temperature of 65°C
(horizontal) and 70°C (vertical) respectively.
The curves below show the relationship between the power (in relation to the nominal power) the
power supplies can deliver continuously and the ambient temperature.

Mounting on the horizontal plane Horizontal Vertical

Extreme operating conditions

The derating should be considered in extreme operating conditions:
c Intensive operation (the output current should be close to the nominal current for a long time,
combined with a higher ambient temperature);
c The output voltage is set above 24 V.

General rules to be complied with

Intensive operation See the above derating curves.

Rise in the output voltage The nominal power is fixed.

The Increase of the output voltage means that the current delivered must be
reduced.

In all cases, there must be adequate convection round the power supplies to ensure easier
cooling. There must be a clear space of 50 mm above and below the products and of 20 mm at
the sides. The mechanical ventholes of 200W/250 W/350 W must not be blocked out.
