History

P attoki is a town in the Kasur District of the Punjab province. Pattoki is named after a caste of the Hindus called
Pattwaan. It was a Hindu-Sikh dominated town, famous for its cotton production and was called The Cotton
Queen. After partition the cotton industry became sick. This city is still a big trade Centre for a number of
villages attached to it. The Changa Manga forest is also 10 kilometers away from Pattoki. Ghehlan nurseries are also
1 kilometre away from Pattoki. Pattoki green market is famous all over the Punjab.

Geography
Pattoki Tehsil is an administrative subdivision (tehsil) of Kasur District in the Punjab province of PAKISTAN
The market town of Pattoki is the headquarters of the tehsil.
Tehsil Pattoki is surrounded by Okara District in its west and Sheikhupura district on its north, Tehsil Kasur in its east
and Tehsil Chunian in its south. It is the headquarter of Pattoki Tehsil, an administrative subdivision of the district,
and is located at 31°1'0N 73°50'60E with an altitude of 186 meters (613 feet).

Pattoki the city of Flowers

It is a typical Punjabi rural market town in the suburbs of Lahore known for growing
flowers. The town has one of the biggest clusters of flower, fruit and decorative plant
nurseries in the country. Those who drive on the National Highway between Lahore and
Sahiwal are familiar with over 5 kilometers of lush greenery and the fragrant stretch of
nurseries on either side of the road on the edge of the town.
A city of saints.
Pattoki is famous for its saints, called Sufies. Baba Abbas Ali Shah is the most famous of all.
Throughout his life he spoke of love for both man & animals. He kept a pack of dog which
demonstrated his love for animals. He propagated the message of love till his death. A
tradition goes that he also told the day & time of his death to his disciples. A huge Urus
(fair) takes place on his shrine every year on 6 September. lal bag, Shair Shah Wali, Baba
Daang Shah, La'lan Kay Laal, Baba Talib and Baba Ismaeel are others. Peer Sayed Mazher
Hussain Shah and his Father Peer Sayed Karam Shah were also very famous in Bughayana
and Bhai Pheru (Phool Nager). Many miracles of Peer Sayed Mazher Shah are well known.
Also, Peer Kabeer ALi Shah Arrived In this city in 2009 and is introducing religious reforms
over there. Bawa kazim shah is very famous personality in this city because of his affiliation
with baba ABBAS ALI SHAH KAZMI. People of this city are very Hippocratic in their nature.
what’s why Baba ABBAS Ali SHAH declared this city as "kofa". A spiritual personality is also
visiting this city Sarkar SYED IBRAR HUSSAIN SHAH KAZMI Mashahdi.
Culture
Pattoki has historical culture. Love for calligraphy made it very popular in the country.
Many well-reputed calligraphers are there in the city including Mushtaq Ahmad,
Asif Mushtaq, Rizwan Ishaq
