ORDER: The Chairman, Amminikutty Educational & Charitable Trust, Alangulam, Tirunelveli District has requested the Government to grant permission to start four years B.Sc (Nursing) course in the name and style as “St. Mariam College of Nursing, Puthur, Tirunelveli District’ with an annual intake of 60 students from the academic year 2019-2020. 2. In Government letter sixth read above, the Director of Medical Education was requested to conduct an inspection on the premises of the Trust to consider their request 3 i 2 3. The Director of Medical Education has constituted an inspection team to verify as to whether the proposed College of nursing has fulfilled the conditions prescribed by the Government and the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi and has submitted the proposal with the Inspection Report / Project Report along with his specific recommendation to the Government and requested to issue necessary orders. 4. In his letter seventh read above, the Director of Medical Education has submitted the proposal stating that the said institution has fulfilled all the norms prescribed by the Government as well as by the Indian Nursing Council and recommended to grant permission to the Chairman, Amminikutty Educational & Charitable Trust, Alangulam, Tirunelveli District to start four years B.Sc (Nursing) course with an annual intake of 60 (sixty) students in the name and style as “St. Mariam College of Nursing, Puthur, Tirunelveli District” from the academic year 2019-2020 5. The Government have examined the case in detail in the light of the Inspection Report and the recommendations of the Director of Medical Education. Accordingly, the Government grant permission to the Chairman, Amminikutty Educational & Charitable Trust, Alangulam, Tirunelveli District to start four years B.Sc (Nursing) course with an annual intake of 60 (sixty) students in the name and style as “St. Mariam College of Nursing” S.F. Nos. 75/1A, 75/182, 76/1, 76/2B, 120, 121/1, Puthur Village, Puthur Panchayat, Tirunelveli District from the academic year 2019-2020, subject to the following conditions:~ a) Admission of students shall be made as per the rules fixed by the Government from time to time. b) Tuition fees including special fees should be collected from the students at the same rates as prescribed by the Government from time to time. The Management should also give separate undertaking stating that No CAPITATION FEE ‘or any other fund in the name of building fund, etc. will be collected from the students who seek admission in the said nursing college ©) The Trust should obtain recognition / affiliation from the Tamil Nadu Nurses and Midwives Council, Chennai, The Tamil Nadu Dr.M.G.R Medical University, Chennai and if needed, suitability from Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi, respectively before admitting the students. d) The Government have the right to utilize the Government Endowment fund created by the Trust in meeting the justifiable payment to students that may arise due to non compliance of rules and regulations of the Government by the Trust like, winding of course without valid reasons etc. 3 i i e) The Institute so permitted to conduct the course will be allowed to shift / change the study centres only after completion of three years from the date of actual commencement of the course by the first batch of students, after getting orders of Government on inspection of the centres. f) The Trust should not run any other Nursing institution within 10 kms radius. g) The Trust should construct its own 240 bedded hospital within a period of 3 years. h) The Trust should construct hostel block for boys and girls separately within a period 8 months. i) The Trust should obtain the building completion certificate from the competent authority for the proposed nursing institution and submit to the Government before admitting the students 6.
