1 EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

DataPath International AB, a subsidiary of DataPath Inc., provides a streamlined ability to support and
offer products and services from a single source. DataPath has the demonstrated experience,
qualifications, past performance, and depth of resources to provide both land satcom and maritime
satcom products and services as a straight-forward, cost effective, and low risk solution.

This paper addresses DataPath’s land portable satellite terminals. These are not only designed to meet
military specifications but are also tested and verified in a controlled environment. Thus, making sure
that the products are not just a design intention – they actually perform during the pre-defined conditions
(a selection of the conditions are stated below). When designing products to meet military standards the
aim is that our customers should experience high availability due to high MTBF (Mean Time Between
Failures). Designing products to meet military standards is not an easy task even if standardized
verification methods and test facilities are in place. It is still not a perfect representation of the heat in a
hot dessert environment or salt spray at the sea side.

The most important element of a successful and stable product portfolio is its track record, the lessons
learned, and modifications undertaken during its lifetime. DataPath’s current portable product family has
been deployed in harsh conditions for more than 10 years. We have gained valuable information from the
field which, in turn has been used to consistently re-invest in the quality of the product line.

Since DataPath’s portable product family is modular with a unique plug-and-play functionality it combines
three important aspects:
• High quality by field proven, robust designs for harsh environments
• Ease of Use by plug-and-play modularity and one software interface
• Future proof by being upgradable by modularity (new modules can be added with the latest
technology that makes use of the field proven housings and interfaces)

All of our portable satellite terminals are constructed of rugged materials to withstand any condition and
are tightly sealed to keep out sand, dust and water. They are rigorously tested to surpass the toughest
environments and standards and have been field-proven for years.

2. C-SERIES AND Q-SERIES PRODUCT INTRODUCTION

Portable Satcom Terminals

Based in Stockholm, Sweden DataPath’s full range of high mobility terminals, from the ultra-portable Q-
Series to the powerful field proven C-Series, provide the ultimate choice of options for fast, lightweight
and easy-to-use satellite communications.
With a common modular architecture, interchangeable modules allow customers to customize for
mission, portability, speed and budget. Customers can maximize their investment and adapt to future
needs by changing key characteristics of their C-series and Q-series system for different frequency bands,
power levels and modem types.
To maintain high quality functioning C-series and Q-series antenna systems our professional services
organization provides customized support customer needs for training, maintenance and repair.
C-series

Q-series

For more than 20 years, military, government and commercial organizations have relied on DataPath’s
fast, durable portable satellite terminals for maximum flexibility and high value.
