Chapter 1

Introduction

A Broken Family is define as a family that has a separate to a variety of reason. A family should

consist of a father, mother and a child. A home is where a family lives, so it the parents are legally or

illegal separated it will turn into broken family. Broken Family can be describe as a broken home, where

in a child don’t have both parent at home. The husband and wife are legally separated. It can also

be spouse and child who where abandoning. Sometimes death of one member of a family can be

lead to broken family. Broken family is incomplete, since family is where students got their learning

about the world before they engage themselves the real life scenarios and raised in a broken family

will affect the outlook in life of the students. It will affect their whole life especially in their studies and

their emotions.

The researchers aim to share information about the ground on why Grade 11 senior high school

students of Nagyantok Cawag Subic Zambales. Main campus struggle to face the challenges on being

raised in a broken family. The researcher hope that this research, would help students undergoing such

struggles overcome without compromising their academic performances.

Statement of The Problem

The statement of the problem is to what limit broken homes causes by separation divorce of

parents affect children student academic achievement. The children social life could also be affected

because they became a problem to their society .

Scope and Delimitation

This study seeks to know how a student’s from broken family affects the student academic

performance of Nagyantok high school, on this academic school year 2019-2020.

The target respondents of this study are the student of Nagyantok high school and how can it

be an understanding matter to the students performance on their study.

Significance of The Study

This study about the effects of broken family to the student’s academic performance of

Nagyantok high school S.Y 2019-2020.

The persons that would benefit from the study are the following: For the student, this study will

help the students who have a broken family to be aware in their Situation and how if effects their

academic performance; For parents, this study will benefits also the parents to make them realize that

having a complete Family is the most important foundation in our society and having a broken family

can affect their Child behavior and academic performance in school; For the teacher, this will provide

knowledge about broken family as factor to the student Academic performance and they may help

their students problem .

Definition of Terms

* Family: A small part of the community a small foundation of the society

* Broken Family: Are those families where parents doesn’t live together or separated

* Academic: Relating to performance in courses of the study

* Student: They affect to those situation
