ELICIT (5 mins) MATERIALS Show images of comparison of the Powerpoint presentation, images effects of healthy and unhealthy lifestyles particularly in the respiratory and circulatory systems. Then, let the students describe the images. ENGAGE (15 mins) Video Presentation Play a video presentation about a comparison of healthy and unhealthy lifestyles. Then, let the students answer the following questions a. What are the negative lifestyles showed in the video? b. How can lifestyle affect the functioning of the respiratory and circulatory system? c. How can these negative lifestyles be changed? d. What might happen if a person goes on with a negative lifestyle such as what were seen in the video? EXPLORE (10mins) Paper and pen, Grade 9 LM 1. Do Activity entitled “What’s the word?” in the LM page 22-23. 2. Write the answer in the box provided for each anwer.The expected answers are illnesses that are brought about by the negative lifestyles.

Negative lifestyle weakens your system while healthy lifestyle leads to complete wellness. Vices, stressful environments, and unhealthy eating habits can cause various diseases, specifically of the respiratory and circulatory systems. EVALUATE (10mins) Powerpoint presentation Ask the students the following questions: Explain how does lifestyle affects the functioning of the respiratory and circulatory system. Which lifestyles do you prefer? At your age right now, can you identify the kind of lifestyles you practice? Do you think it brings positive effects on your health? EXTEND Paper and pen,1/4 illustration Assignment: Compose a poem about board, how one’s lifestyle can affect the functioning of the respiratory and circulatory systems.
