About Mundus
WHO WE ARE
Asociación MUNDUS is a non-profit organisation, founded in 2013 and based in Santa

Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), Zaragoza and Girona.
We are dedicated to managing training and international mobility projects for young people
- internships, volunteering, exchanges, courses - and for professionals working in this
sector
Asociación Mundus' aim is to promote education, intercultural learning, volunteering and

cooperation from the approach of non-formal education.

About Mundus
MISSION STATEMENT AND VISION
Our mission is to help young people in Europe to prepare themselves to face the challenge of
an uncertain life in an active and ever changing world through participation in new
international experiences.
In the field of youthwork, up until now, we have the experience of having sent more than 500
volunteers and more than 650 participants in youth exchanges and in training courses
abroad.
We are also a sending, coordinating and hosting organisation of the European Voluntary
Service and European Solidarity Corps, through which each year we host volunteers who
carry out projects within the framework of the programme of our organisation and other local
organisations who we collaborate with in Catalonia and Aragon.
We are also dedicated to supporting vocational training centres in the application process of
ERASMUS+ VET mobility grants, placing a special emphasis on intercultural preparation and
personal development. Likewise, we also welcome students from all over Europe, who carry
out professional traineeships in Zaragoza, with the same idea of mobility as a key element in
personal and professional development of students.

About Mundus
OUR HEADQUARTERS
Asociación Mundus has 2 main headquarters. In Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona) we

are specialised in sending young people to European projects as well as engaging them in
local and strategic projects.
In Zaragoza, our main activity is hosting students from all around Europe to carry out work
experience at local companies, thanks to our wide network of partner companies.
Moreover, we collaborate in the space Estació Espai Jove de Girona, where we have an
information and advice point for International Mobility.

About Mundus
OUR TEAM
The people who make up The Mundus Team have gone from being participants in
exchange and voluntary projects, motivated by their own experiences, to then becoming
organisers and trainers of these types of opportunities for young people.
Throughout our journey, we have organised and participated in diverse projects of

international mobility programmes, such as Youth in Action, Erasmus+, Citizens for
Europe, European Social Fund -Youth Guarantee-, or PON, among others.

MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE
Asociación MUNDUS is divided into various departments. Some of them correspond with
their physical headquarters; others work across the whole organisation. These are the
departments that Mundus is seperated into.

E+ VET HOSTING
In Zaragoza, we host students
from different European
countries who come to carry out
work experience with European
mobility programmes, mainly
Erasmus + (VET).
We have a wide network of high
quality local companies that
guarantee the acquisition of
the needed professional skills.
E+ VET OUTGOING
We support FE centres with
Erasmus + VET projects with the
preparation of students and the
search for European partners. We
have a series of trusted
organisations and companies from
all over Europe that are committed
to personal and professional
learning and monitoring of the
participants during their work
experience abroad.

What We Do
VOLUNTEERING
We work with voluntary
programmes financed by the
European Commision. The
European Voluntary Service and
the new European Solidarity
Corps have allowed us to send
and host more than 500
volunteers to solidarity projects
all over Europe.
ERASMUS+ YOUTH
Within the Erasmus +

programme, we organise youth
exchange projects and training
courses. In addition, we are a
sending organisation for
participants in youth exchange
projects. We have assisted more
than 650 young people to have
their first intercultural experience
or youthwork training.

EfVET is an organisation which is revered worldwide for

providers of education and vocational training. Its mission is to
protect and enrich professional and technical education and
training by means of transnational cooperation, with the creation
of a PanEuropean institutional network.
Asociación Mundus is certified with the RSA Label, a certification

created by the Government of Aragon with the aim of promoting
Corporate Social Responsibility among freelancers, companies
and all types of public and private organisations of the
autonomous region of Aragon, to implement socially responsible
practices.
European Research Network in Vocational Education
and Training (VETNET) covers a broad range of research activities
in vocational education and training (VET). VETNET was founded
in 1996 as the second research network of the European
Educational Research Association (EERA).
EAfA unites governments and key stakeholders with the aim of

strengthening the quality, provision and overall image of
apprenticeships across Europe, while also promoting the mobility
of apprentices.

EU pro VET is a representational platform of vocational training

providers which supports organisations who work in the area of
vocational training; It is representation at a European level to be
able to contribute to and achieve the common objectives of the
European sector.
The Trampoline project is part of the European program of

cross-border cooperation Interriego VA Spain-France-Andorra
(POCTEFA) 2014-2020, created to promote sustainable development
of the border territory of Spain, France and Andorra, and aimed at
strengthening economic and social integration of this area.
The E-Youth Patrimony Network arose from a project launched by

the Greek organisation Solidarity Tracks and brings together 16
youth organisations from 14 European countries. The goal is to
share best practices in working alongside and supporting craft and
heritage projects carried out by young people.

In 2019 we supported the sending of 358 students and teachers in vocational training, VET and
HE, of different specialities to the centres which we collaborate with in La Rioja, Cataluña and
Aragon. 14 students from La Rioja and 106 from Aragon and the rest from Cataluña.

TLN MOBILICAT
In 2019 we sent 25 unemployed young people so they can undertake a 20 week period of work experience
abroad, with them taking part in intercultural and linguistic preparation before they go.
TLN Mobilicat is a programme driven by the Catalonia Government and financed by The European
Social Fund by the Youth Guarantee Programme, a European level initiative whose main goal is to
reduce youth unemployment. Through TLN Mobilicat, young people who live in Catalonia and who are
registered in the Youth Guarantee Registry, have the opportunity to receive scholarships for carrying
out professional internships abroad.
Asociación Mundus is one of the Spanish organisations that manages TLN Mobilicat in Catalonia,
having held three yearly projects since 2016.

2019 Activities
VOLUNTEERING
In 2019 we sent 144 young people from all over Spain to volunteering projects in more than 18
countries in The European Union.
The durarion of their stays varies depending on the project, being between 1 month and a year,
These projects are made possible thanks to The European Voluntary Service (EVS), a programme co-
financed by the European Commission. Starting next year, this programme will gradually dissappear
to be replaced by The European Solidarity Corps (ESC). Asosiación Mundus has been recognised with
a Quality Label which allows us to be a sending and recieving organisation for ESC volunteers.

2019 Activities
ERASMUS+ YOUTH
In 2019 we sent 101 young people from all over Spain
to 27 Erasmus+ Youth projects in 8 European Union
Countries. These short projects make up part of the
first key objective of the Erasmus + Programmes,
funded by The European Commision.
Eramus + Youth Exchanges allow young people from

all over Spain to get together to share their cultures
and traditions while they work on a hot topic that is
relevant in the European Union.
On the other hand, training courses and seminars

allow youth leaders and youth workers to educate
themselves and share best practices in different areas
of social, educational and training fields at all levels.

At the Aragon branch of Asociación Mundus, the main activity that we carry out is the hosting of
students from all over Europe who come to Zaragoza and neghbouring districts to carry out work
experience in local businesses in very diverse sectors.In the hosting of Erasmus+ VET students,
Asociación Mundus acts as a trusted intermediary between VET Centres and local workplaces.
Throughout the process, we play a key role as far as: the relationship between the VET centres and the
workplaces who offer placements, logistic preparation for their stay, planning and monitoring of the
training programmes of each student, matching with local workplaces according to the students profile,
the finding of new partners, preparation and delivery of cultural activities during their stay, individual
tutoring and resolution of possible conflicts during their stay.
In 2019, Asociación Mundus hosted a total of 830 participants from six European countries.

EMPRESAS ERASMUS+
Due to the increase in the number of work placements that Asociacion Mundus has hosted in 2019, We
have developed a communication strategy that aims at promoting our programmes and services to
Aragon companies. The main goals of our communication plan was to explain what kind of benefits a
company could have when hosting foreign interns.
To this end, we have also created an award Empresa Amiga Erasmus+ - "Golden Host Erasmus+" and
we have given it to companies that have hosted VET students many times a year. The promotional
campaign aims to explain the importance of education and the roles of tutors and supervisors in every
company.
In 2018, the increase of businesses hosting students compared to 2017 resulted in a total growth of 170
companies, to accommodate the 530 students we received in 2018. This has led to an increase of
approximately 80% in the recuritment of host enterprises.

OUR PROJECTS
BELLE
Is a collaborative project for innovation and sharing of best
practices of Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ Programme (KA2).
Coordinated by Asociacion Mundus, It has the goal of
strengthening adult education and offering continous
learning opportunities thanks to various tools such as online
learning and European mobility oppotunities.The project has
developed a free to use platform catered towards adults
with specific online courses which favour life-long learning.

ASSOSCIATED PROJECTS
ONLINE TRAINING COURSES FOR E+ YOUTH WORKERS

A Strategic Project to train Eramus+ project collaborators, which has the aim of creating, sharing and
giving training courses in line with different areas of the Erasmus+ Programme. Coordinated by the
Romanian organisation Predict CSD Consulting.
ARTEM
A long term strategic project which has the main aim of developing an interactive space between
people born in Europe and migrants to create employment through a joint, dynamic process. This
project is co-financed by The Erasmus+ Programme and The Eruopean Comission and is coordinated
by The Pistes Solidaires Organisation.
MY STORY MAP
A project based on educational strategies which are centred around the educational use of digital
narrative and digital maps with the aim of reintroducing young people to learning activities, and
thanks to the work produced, avoid that other young people leave education prematurely.
OPPORTUneetIES
An Erasmus+ strategic association which has the aim of improving the quality and the relevance of
learning opportunities by means of the creation of common skills between a project partnership of 4
European organisations .
THE VET LEARNER JOURNEY

The VET Learner Journey is a strategic project funded by the Erasmus + program by the EC whose
main objective is to improve the interrelation of VET and the further education curriculum, through
the exchange of good practices between partners and the creation of an interactive tool.
EUROPE FOR VET+

Is an exchange project of good practices with the aim to improve the quality of the VET mobility
projects in a transnational way. The goal is to promote the collaboration between Asociación Mundus
and other international organisations to standardise VET programmes.
Work Based Learning

A strategic project in the area of youth which aims to create an environment of empowerment
focused on youth to allow young people to take part in placements based on practical work
experience, therefore improving their professional skillset.

ASSOSCIATED PROJECTS
EDU-ACTION 2.0.
Edu-Action 2.0 is a Capacity Bulding project finance by Erasmus + with the aim of promoting the
exchange of good practices to combat early school leavers.
MEDI-CULTURE
Is a joint strategy (KA2) financed by the Erasmus + programme, in the area of adult education. The
principal objective is the development of new skills for people who work in adult education to
improve teaching and make it more intercultural, inside as well as outside the classroom, especially in
the case of educational centres and organisations who have a high level of immigrant learners.
BUILDING HEALTHY COMMUNITIES, CHANGING 0PPORTUNITIES

Is a small scale collaborartive organisation in the Erasmus + Sport framework where sports activites
are examined on a local level to equally promote development opportunities, encouraging social
inclusion and a healthy lifestyle.
FROM ME TO EU
A project within the European Citizenship Framework which has the aim of providing spaces and
opportunities so that European citizens and immigrant communities work together to build and
share a new idea of a mutlicultural Europe.

2019 Results
Asociación Mundus ends 2019 with a Communications Department made up of two full time and one part
time employee with the help of a European volunteer. Within our organisation, we firmly believe that the
work that we carry out requires a lot of effort put into sharing the programmes that we work with, the
projects and activities that we carry out and the results.
This understanding makes us stand out from the rest of the sector, with us being one of the few mobility
organisations which has a team soley dedicated to communication.
In 2019 we have continually developed our strategic communication plan, adapting it to the growing
conditions and diversification of our company during the year.
The principal objective of the strategic communication plan continues to be promoting the values of
equality, inclusion, integration and interculturality; engaging participants, international,local and project
partners; and to inform people of our own organisation, existing programmes and available opportunities.
To this end, we have implemented, among many others, the following communicative strategies:

ONLINE COMMS.
In the area of online communication, throughout 2019, Associación Mundus has gone from strength
to strength as one of the benchmark international mobility organisations in Spain as far as queries
regarding mobility programmes for young people and existing opportunities to carry out a mobility
project abroad.
The main communication channels of Asociación Mundus are :the organisation Website, Facebook
page, Instagram account, Whatsapp group chat, quarterley newsletter and YouTube channel.
WEBSITE
Asociación Mundus has a website which is in Spanish and English, with high traffic and a good
position in the results of the main search engines. The website is the main way that we publish our
informative content about European programmes, news and mobility programme offers.
We have completely revamped our English web page, especially in the international student
placement hosting section, in which we have included interactive materials, European maps which
show the educational centres which we regularly work with and diverse informational materials
(specialised infopacks) in 5 European Languages.

ONLINE COMMS.
SOCIAL NETWORKS
In 2019, Facebook and Instagram have once again been the main social
networks which we have used to promote our activities. This year we have
tried to boost engagement on Instagram by means of competitions,original
content, information campaigns, surveys etc. Our Facebook page, which has
more than 13,000 followers, is the source of just about all the content that we
post (positions, news, audiovisual material etc). It´s a flexible medium which
allows us to include written information, links,images and videos. We also
manage 2 Facebook groups: one where we publish all the volunteering
opportunities and another which manages a members list interested in
mobility projects.
On Instagram, we have worked a lot with stories to share our activities and
posts like never before, which has enabled us to get directly in touch with our
audiences using language familiar to them.
Our Twitter account keeps growing in numbers of followers and even though
it is not the primary method of communication for Asociación Mundus,it is
an important link with European institutions and educational centres.
During 2019, our Whatsapp group for sharing volunteering vacancies has
been a confirmed success. As well as being a unidirectional channel for
sharing mobility vacancies that we have, it allows us to effectively reach
people who are interested in our projects. Currently there are more than
12,000 people subscribed to it.

This year, we have promoted the creation of our own audio-visual content with 2 principal goals: to

2019 Achievements
OFFLINE COMMUNICATION
In Asociación Mundus, we regulary produce posters, pamphlets, information packs and other print
materials which tell people about the activities that we do, our projects and their achievements.
These materials are a great help in fairs, events and discussion sessions in which we regularly
participate in.

This year we have also produced new merchandise, which we intend participants and partners to
take with them to their international mobility projects. To this end, we have designed a new range of
Mundus branded notebooks, water bottles, different coloured badges and loose leaf folders. Also,for
the first time ever, we organised an illustration competition among our followers in which the
winning design was printed on tote bags which we gave away to our partners and participants. We
also produce specialised materials for training sessions, activities and events which we put on.
LOCAL MEDIA PRESENCE
In 2019, Asociación Mundus has been present in the local media thanks to the organisation and
participation in various large-scale events.
This year, the different events and activites which we have carried out have appeared in Irekia, TV
Badalona, Aragón digital, EfVet and TV Tarazona among others.

Local Involvement
INVOLVEMENT
Asociación Mundus is deeply rooted in the local community of Santa Coloma de Gramenet.
The presence of the assosciation in a common environment local youth gives it an invaluable importance
as far as its connection to local youth and the ability it has to empower and involve them to contribute
to the development of their own community.
In this way, an important part of the mission of Asociación Mundus has been, since it´s inception, to
bring the international reality to a local level, through various intiatives and activities.
LINGUISTIC CAFÉ - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET

Every Tuesday in the community centre, Asosciación Mundus organises linguistic exchange
workshops where up to five different lanugages are offered meanwhile participants build and
strengthen intercultural friendship links.
COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL INSTITUTIONS - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET

We collaborate with local institutions who work with people with physical and mental disabilities,
coordinating international volunteering projects for these institutions. We currently work with or we
have worked directly with various local institutions (Tallers, Mans a les Mans, EVEHO, Germina,
Integramenet) and institutions in the local area (Rialles, El Faro, Ayuntamiento de Santa Coloma).
VOLUNTEER HELP POINT- SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET

We are member of “Punt del Voluntariat Local” in Santa Coloma which coordinates local volunteers
and non-profit organisations. The presence of Asociación Mundus in this forum forges a link between
our organisation and other people and entities that potentially require our services.
CLASES DE IDIOMAS - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET/ZARAGOZA

VET students on Erasmus+ placements can access preparatory language classes, which we offer
weekly for a period of between three and four months. The European Volunteers also organise the
Linguistic Café.
BIBLIOTECA HUMANA - SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET
We act as a point of contact between local young people who have taken part in a work placement
abroad and others who haven´t, with the goal that they all find out the opportunities that are
available to local youth.
From this event, the Facebook group “Comando Trotamundus”, was born.

MOBILITY ADVICE - ZARAGOZA, SANTA COLOMA DE GRAMENET AND GIRONA

Our offices also serve as international mobility advice centres open to the public. Every day young
people come to find out about international projects that they can potentiallly participate in, as well
as activities which we offer.
MOBILITY TALKS AND WORKSHOPS - BARCELONA AND GIRONA

Between two and theree times a month we host talks and workshops on international mobility
opportunities in youth and education centres in the Barcelona metropolitan area as well as Girona, in
collaboration with our local partner L'Estació Espai Jove.
INTERCULTURAL WORKSHOPS - BARCELONA, GIRONA AND ZARAGOZA
As a result of our international partnership projects, we carry out youth intercultural workshops
throughout the year. These workshops are very valuable in a multicultural context such as ours.
LOCAL STRATEGIC PROJECTS

Outreach and close collaboration with The Adult Education School of Santa Coloma (Mediculture
Project), with the Caleidoscopi project ( EduAction 2.0. Project), collaboration with the local council
(Santa Coloma Partnership, Mobility Consultancy and use of public spaces for events and
workshops), Una Vuelta al Mundus Event and the introduction of Belle as an online education
platform for adults.
