FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP (208-536-105, LIH side kit) or 206-536-106 (RIM side kit) on Bell 206A, 8, L, Lot C3, L-4 Mocel Helicopters, DISTRIBUTION These instructions are provided with each FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP. Any airworthiness or fight safety revisions will be immediately sent to all fected FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP owners. DESCRIPTION ‘The AERONAUTICAL ACCESSORIES, INC. FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP provides an extra measure of safety during pre-fight and maintenance operations, The FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP provides a sturdy step and allows the piot or mechanic to more safely standicimb on the aircraft during inspection. MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS PRE-FLIGHT INSPECTION ‘The FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP shall receive a Pre-fight visual inspection. Inspect for p-oper installation of hardware, any unusual wear patterns, corrosion andlor damage (scratches, nicks, dents, cracks). Ensure the damage limits presented in Table 1 are not exceeded for the FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP. Replace parts as required NOTE Removal of FOLDING MAINTENANCE STEP from helicopter, 's not required for inspection. if any damage is noted during the Pre-fght Inspection, refer to Section 3.3 Repair or Section, 4.0 Troubleshooting Information. ‘The Pre-fight inspection consists ofthe following items: 1. Inspect the Folding Maintenance Step for nicks, scratches, dents, corrosion ‘or cracks, NOTE ‘The indications of corrosion are 1) corrosion deposits (a white ‘gray powder on aluminum or rust colored deposits on stee), 2) pits in the aluminum or steel surface, 3) blisters, bulging or flaking of protective coatings. Check the torque value on the Folding Maintenance Step attaching hardware and adjust as required to 50-70 ins. 3, Inspect Baggage Door Retention Strap for tears or frays and check attachng fasteners for securiy, replace if necessary. 4. Uslize the Inspection Record provided in Appendix A to document Inspection completion, REPAIR, Repair scratches, nicks, dents and corrosion as follows: 1. Lightly polish the affected area using Scotch-Brite pads. Ensure the limits presented in Table 1 are nat exceeded, Take care to remove as litle of the component protective coatings as possible, 2. For the aluminum components, after corrosion or damage repair: Clean ‘repaired area with isopropyl alcohol, brush Alodine bare aluminum areas per MIL-C-5541 or equivalent, and paint area to match existing finish 3.
