The quote I used is “Cancer is claiming more than 1,600 lives in America every

day. Meanwhile, the budget of the NCI has fallen woefully short of what’s needed.” I

used this source when I switched from telling a profile of my person, and bringing in

outside source to back it up. I introduced this evidence with a quote that she told me. It

backed up what she was saying. I directly quoted it. I didn’t really use it in contrast with

another source, but just used it to back it up even more. I one-hundred percent agree

with my source. I think I can probably find an even better source. I think the part that

said 1,600 people die a day from cancer was really good because it demonstrates the

magnitude of how many people really are dying. I think the last part of it can be a lot

more specific. There should be one that states how much is being spent and if that

number is going up or down over time. I agree that there definitely needs to be more

funding for cancer research. I feel like we are able to find cures for a lot of different

diseases, and especially with modern technology we should be able to find a cure.

Overall, this source was a good piece of evidence and I think with another source,

together they will be strong in persuading my readers.
