school setting
Physical setting

1.Clasroom Classroom arrangement is the usual arrangement. Chairs/tables are arranged

arrangement in two main groups producing an aisle in the center.

2. Bulletin board Classrooms lack bulletin board display. However, there are many bulletin
display boards outside the classroom which are intended for general audiences.

3.School play ground There’s no well-defined playground in that school but there is a wide oval and
court for the students to play.

4. learning resources One main learning resource center in the school that I observed is the Library.
The Library is very conductive for studying.

Socio-Psychological Setting
1.Class Schedules The class observes a regular routine every day. They clean the room and the
surrounding area in the morning followed by a normal schedule of classes then
another classroom cleaning before leaving the class.

2. Teacher’s activities The teacher gives appropriate learning activities to her students. Also, she did
not stop in there; in addition, she connects the students learning to the real
world context.

3. Learner’s activities The learners show enthusiasm in performing their parts. They actively engage
on what the teacher tells them on what to do.

4.Co-curricular The teacher enhances the academic performance of the students supported
activities with values applicable for daily living.

5.Extracurricular Students were engaged and exposed to different activities in which their main
activities purpose is to enhance and develop their skills and foster self-confidence.
My Reflection/ Insights
Based on the teacher’s program and your observations, answer the following:
1. Would you consider teaching as full time job? Why or why not?
Answer: As I observed, I can say that teaching is really a full time job and it is not easy to
become one. Being a teacher requires effort and flexibility to meet the needs of the learners in a
diversified context.

2. Are the conditions in the classroom conducive to the welfare of both the learners and
teachers? How will you improve it?
Answer: The workplace, as well as the place where the school is located is very conducive for both
teachers and students. The physical environment of the classroom is organized and maintained
properly.
These conditions make the teaching-learning process attainable in a peaceful, wholesome
environment.

3. After closely observing the teacher in the school setting, are motivated to continue on
becoming a teacher? What in the teacher’s practices inspire you to become a
professional teacher?
Answer: The teacher’s inspired me for being flexible for the needs of their students. They
maintain their good relationship towards their learners. As a teacher, we should be developed
and passionate enough to choose the job that we imprint a legacy to our learners, giving them
importance, nurturing them and helping them all the way they need.

4. How can I improve the school setting that I have observed when I become a teacher?
a. Classroom arrangement- Certain activities call for a specific classroom arrangement.
Therefore, I need to consider every activity that I want in class. For example, in
group activity I will change the arrangement for fast access of students. For another, I will
also change the arrangement in order to suit the activity.
b. Bulletin board Display
I will put up individual bulletin boards in classroom so that students will catch the
latest information and updates regarding their class schedules, special occasions and
announcements in class.
c. School playground
Maintaining the cleanliness of the school playground must be given enough
importance to let students feel comfortable wherever they will use this to enhance their
bodily kinesthetic intelligence.
Activity 2
Classroom Utilization of Community Resources in lessons
After making the inventory of the community resources, spend some time to observe
classes and find out which are being utilize by the teachers.
Add the Chart in your Portfolio.

Science Laboratory/Experiment
The teacher would help them used science inquiry as a powerful way to build
literary and language skills.
Mathematics Encourage the children to play math puzzles and games. Puzzles and games
anything with dice, it really help the children enjoy maths and develop number
sense which is critically important.

Social Studies The teacher should know the history and teaches every students to address
societal and global concerns using literature, technology and other identifiable
community resources.
