MONGOLIA
INDUSTRY QUESTIONNAIRE
2. Does the CRC make information regarding spectrum issues easily available
and in a format that you can understand? Do you know the spectrum
availability in the near future?
The CRC has frequently published the information of spectrum that shows
the spectrum allocation and the issues that CRC meets. But most importantly,
there is a no clear roadmap for spectrum availability for both short and long
term. There should be a central database for spectrum availability in which
we can find the available spectrum and the spectrum that will be available in
the future.
4. Please provide your number of mobile broadband customers; and any data
traffic forecast you have developed
Mobile broadband customers
2017 700
2018 800
2019 900
5. Do you have sufficient spectrum to meet your current needs? If not, how
much spectrum (and in which bands) do you need to meet your short-term
needs?
UNITEL’s current spectrums are not sufficient to provide high-quality mobile
broadband services and has planned to use following bands.
7. Are you satisfied with the process that the CRC uses to assign spectrum in
Mongolia? If not, please share your concerns.
The CRC should have a flexible spectrum allocation model that encourages
to assign more spectrum to the companies who have higher subscribers and
traffic than others and who needs more spectrum.
