I. Objectives
At the end of the period, the students must be able to

3. Dramatize the significance of the story, relating it to their life as students.

B. Review
Deal or Deal
Selected students will be given pictures of briefcases wherein each briefcases contains a word
that was used in the discussion last lesson. "Class, these briefcase keepers will give us a recap
of what was discussed last time. Now, briefcase keepers, is it a Deal or Deal?"

C. Motivation
Wrecking Ball of Yarn
"Class, i have here the wrecking ball of yarn. This will be passed from one student to another as
we sing the song Wrecking Ball by Miley Cyrus. When I said stop, the student holding the ball
will have to share about his dream as a child, if that dream came true or not, and how that
person would feel if his dream didn't or will never come true. Are you ready to wrecked by the
wrecking ball of yarn, Class?"

D. Lesson Proper
1. Motivational Questions
Do all our dreams always come true?
Why do you think some are not meant to come true?
What do you think is Life's true adventure?

2. Unlocking of Difficulties (Before Listening)


Matchy matchy
"Class, here are some words and their definitions that you will encounter in the story. The
students who are holding the words will have to look for the definitions of it among your
classmates. The matching students will have to shout "Matchy matchy" if they have found the
right meaning and read it together to the class."

3. Discussion (During Listening)


Teacher as a Model Reader
Teacher reads the story and pauses at certain parts to ask the following questions:
"What do you think will the other trees wish for?"
"Do you think their wishes will come true?"
"Would there still be a chance for their wishes to come true?"
"Is this the end for the second tree? What do you think happened with the third tree?"
"How would you like to end the story?"

E. Evaluation (After Listening)


What comes First and What comes Next
"Now, I have here the story divided into parts. I want you to arrange it by following the correct
sequence of the story. The first volunteer should say first "what comes first was..." And then the
part of the story, while the next volunteers will say "what comes next was..." Then the part of the
story until it reaches the last student. Now, shall we start recalling what comes first then what
comes next, Class?"

F. Generalization
4 words, 1 message
"Using these four words, I want you now to give me the message of the story Dreams and Life's
True Adventure."

G. Application
Dramaze Me!
"I want you now to perform a short scenario wherein you could relate the significance of the
story to your lives as students. I will divide you into four groups and give you five minutes to
prepare. After the given time, I want every group to dramaze me!"

IV. Assignment
Read "Three Letters from Teddy" by J.A. Galdom on page 222-224 and answer the questions
at page 225.
