The SteelForce™ Bit

Higher penetration rates. Lower cost per foot.

Application-specific designs. With the Halliburton
SteelForce™ bit, slow ROP due to bit cleaning is history.
Taking drill bit design to a higher level, the Halliburton SteelForce™ bit features a large flow area, an anti-balling coating to help
with cuttings removal and bit balling, and the addition of micro nozzles to get the right flow to the right place on the bit face.
Designed for your specific application by a Halliburton Application Design Evaluation (ADESM) service specialist utilizing our
industry-unique Design at the Customer Interface (DatCISM) service, the result is a steel bit with higher blade standoff to increase
face volume for improved cuttings evacuation and higher ROP.

SelectCutter™ PDC Technology

Thermal Mechanical Integrity™ (TMI)
The ability of a cutter to manage the frictional heat generated
during the drilling process.
Why is TMI important?
Improving TMI means the cutter can manage higher
temperatures before the diamond-to-diamond bonds are
damaged and cutter wear begins.
What is the value to you?
Cutters stay sharper longer and, once they begin to wear, they
wear slower. This means that the bit will drill farther faster, and 2004 2006 2008 2010 2011 H

reduce the cost per foot drilled.

Enhanced Hydraulics Advanced Hardfacing

Material (K1)
• 100% (2X) more abrasion resistant
• 30% more erosion resistant
• Tough carbide pellets
• K1 hardfacing is virtually fracture proof

Matrix Bit SteelForce™ Bit

SteelForce bits can have 55% higher blade standoff compared to matrix Current Hardfacing
bits without sacrificing blade durability. The result is better hydraulics,
enhanced cleaning and faster ROP.

The high blade standoff and bullet-shaped junk slot design of the
SteelForce bit as compared to a matrix bit results in open face volume for
faster ROP and stronger blade design to combat drillstring vibration.
