STEPS TO SETUP YOUR GOOGLE SLIDES PRESENTATION

1. Open Google Chrome:

2. Click in the address/URL bar and type drive.google.com


3. Sign into your student GDOE email – See Ms. Cordova if you do not know your GDOE email!
« If you have never used your GDOE email, your default password is the first 3 letters of your last name
(ALL CAPS) and the last 5 digits of your student number.
o Be sure to write down and save your login details somewhere!
« If you forgot the password to your GDOE email, see Ms. Cordova OR use your personal Gmail account.

4. Click on the icon (left sidebar) that looks like this:

a. A dropdown menu will appear. Click on the selection that looks like this:
b. A new tab/window will appear

5. On the newly opened tab/window, click on the top words that look like this:
a. Name document to (period#)(space)(hyphen)(space)(firstname)(space)(lastname)(space)Odyssey
• Example: 1 - Joe Cruz Odyssey
6. Once document is renamed, share the file with Ms. Cordova:

a. Click on the icon (top right corner) that looks like this:
b. A pop-up window will appear that looks like this:

Please leave the


setting to “Can edit.”
Do NOT change it.
c. Type in Ms. Cordova’s email address: aaccordova@gdoe.net

There are 2 “a” & 2 “c”.

7. Set up the required slides:
a. Open a new tab or window on Google Chrome

b. Go to Ms. Cordova’s website: www.jfkhs-cordova.weebly.com


c. Hover (do NOT click!) your cursor (mouse’s arrow) over “English 9” OR “English 9 Honors”.

d. Click on “Personal Odyssey Project”.

e. To view a sample template, click on the green button found above the Project Overview file.

f. A new tab/window will appear that will show you the template for the project.
« This is just a guide to make sure you have all the required elements and that all the slides are in
the correct order. You may select all the sample slides on the Google Slides TEMPLATE,
copy it, & paste it onto your document as a start to your presentation.
« Refer to the project overview (found on the website) to make sure you meet all the requirements!

8. Start inputting your information and decorating your slides using the guide below for help with formatting:
