Strengths
- Exercises were really helpful and - “Info overload” (but what could
demonstrated relatively
advanced applications of the
subject matter
- The review was conducted in a
manner that developed a very
relaxed environment that was
quite conducive for learning/
review
- Reviewers were engaging and
did not read from the ppt
- Paraphernalia required for the
review were provided (projector,
screen, wires, etc.)
- Hand-out powerpoint was fully
annotated (powerpoint was
updated with a transcription of
everything the reviewers
mentioned - this was nice
because Migs gave a lot of
worked exercises)
- Evals were returned really fast
Weaknesses
have been done to improve the
pace of the review when there
was so much to tackle in such
little time)
- The pace was hard to keep up
with for people who didn’t
understand the subject matter
too much
- Reviewers didn’t really know
how Villarante liked to ask
questions
- Reviewers weren't sure about
the coverage, as 2024 was
confused about the coverage
themselves
- There were some corrections in
the powerpoint that the
reviewers only realized were
there during the reviews
- Would have been nice if more
people could be working on the
reviews
Opportunities
- Medics cancelled their
reservation on the last second
(supposed to be on the same day
of the review). This allowed us to
make use of MSU (and therefore
not need to pay for a PazMen
room)
- Attendees asked a lot of
questions from exercises they
had in class that the reviewers
were not aware of, facilitating a
better review
Threats
- MSC finance did not coordinate
well enough with the people
handling venue reservations and
the review (and so the review
was only allowed to take up half
of MSU and thus there weren’t
enough tables for all the review
attendies)
- Non-MSS 2024 was also able to
sit in and participate in the
review due to the previous point
- Review attendees were late
(probably because of the
weather; would it be better to set
our venue closer to where the
attendees hold classes?)
