FOREST FIRE

Wildfire is a general term includes forest fire, grassland fires, bush fires and any
other vegetation fire in country side area. Wildfires occur in every continent except
Antarctica. They can naturally occurring and spontaneously, but many are cause by
humans, accidentally or deliberately.

What are the causes of forest fire? Forest fire are caused by natural causes or
man-made causes, many forest start from natural causes such s lightning which set
trees on fire. However, rain extinguishes such fires without causing much damage. High
atmospheric temperatures and dryness (low humidity) offer favorable circumstances for
a fire to start. Man-made causes, fire is caused when a source of fire like naked flame,
cigarette butts, electric sparks or any source of ignition comes into contact with
flammable material.

What are the positive and negative effect of forest fire? The positive effect of
forest fire are it could reduce unproductive forest undergrowth, which mostly composed
of shrub like plants to ashes, which in turn add potash to the soil enabling fresh and
more productive growth. The negative effect of forest fire are it will destroy the habitats
and the intricate relationship of diverse flora and fauna leading to loss of ecosystem and
biodiversity.

How can we prevent forest fire? To prevent forest fire, there are things that we
can do like; comply with all fire restrictions- before we burn check the local authorities
about any fire restrictions that may be in effect. If there are fire restrictions, do not
violate the law. Don't leave a fire unsupervised. Be able to put out a fire; if you start a
fire, it's important that you take the responsibility for extinguishing the fire as well. If you
smoke be responsible. Observe the weather; forest fire are considerably more likely to
start if the weather has left an area hot and dry. Wind is also a factor. Hot, dry conditions
and high winds rare ideal condition for a forest fire to start.

Forest fire and the products they provide are universally required for the
continuation of human society as we know it. To change our society to one that does not
depend on the forest (to the forests detriment) and it associated benefits requires such
an enormous paradigm shift that we generally do not even consider it worthy of further
investigation.
