Two brothers (of the palm steak house family) have branched off to open the burger garage in
long island city. They are grilling up a pat la frieda burger mix (across from the citicorp building)
with real old school style. Simple, griddle fried patties, pickles and fixings on a martin's potato
bun. They are also taking some cues from their steak house days with their perfectly golden
fried onions. I thought it was great. I was so excited to try the two burgers we ordred i forgot to
take the before pics. Sorry, go see (and eat) them yourself.

chris harth is a native minnesotan living in brooklyn. he's making hand crafted knives, end grain
cutting boards and hardwood charcoal under the name ny cutlery. all his materials are
reclaimed, the metal comes from used saw mill blades and the handles are hardwood scrap
from a furniture makers bin. he is also making charcoal that comes from (glue free) oak scrap.
this stuff burns hot and fast, the kind you want to cook your dry aged ribeye over. all good stuff.

I don't normally take much food advice from vegetarians (no offense) but my buddy jonathan
(who is) said this was one of the best slices in nyc. He's right. Located on 8th ave at 31th st.
THE SUB
Another reason why you shouldn't waste your time in the shake shack line. Just a few blocks up
from madison square park at the ace hotel is number 7 sub. Simply delicious.
