RIZAL LAW
AN ACT TO INCLUDE IN THE CURRICULA OF ALL PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS,
COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES COURSES ON THE LIFE, WORKS AND WRITINGS OF
JOSE RIZAL, PARTICULARLY HIS NOVELS NOLI ME TANGERE AND EL
FILIBUSTERISMO, AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING AND DISTRIBUTION THEREOF,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
It is good to know that there was an act or a bill for the national hero, Jose
P. Rizal. All I know about Rizal is that he is a man of character and knowledge. He
is a patriot whom fight with just his own writings and intellect. I was shocked by
this bill’s history. I realized that the catholic group of people were those who always
opposes to the government. Rizal’s novels have a great impact to the society before
until today’s generation. It shows how the Spaniards and the catholic priests
reigned within our ancestors. I don’t know why the church always negates the
approval of this bill. Well in fact they have a point because it could violate the
freedom of conscience and religion. But for me, as far as the freedom of our country
is concerned, we should be more of a patriot than a person of pride.

The bill is a nice example of remembering our national hero. It includes the
movement to educate the young people of today’s generation for them to know
how Rizal fought for our freedom without using sword. Studying his works will let
our generation to reflect on Rizal’s life. The bill is good because the dissemination
of ideas will help the people to move forward because they have a model with good
character and confidence. Also, we will know the great patriot of his time, Jose
Rizal.
