By Anne Nicole Zambrano

Is tardiness better than not being present at all?

Tardiness has consistently been one of the primary issues that schools and
work environments are dealing with. Society depicts it suggesting an absence of
control and regard to one’s promise to a duty. The vast majority of our age has
habitual tardiness wherein it is getting purposeful to the point that it influences
their presentation in their school or work. Being late is not something to be pleased
with but instead it may be viewed as a propensity to be improved in the condition of
progress.

Time is gold. We must not take advantage of time for it is something that we
cannot go back to. Being tardy takes away the essence of time, therefore, we must
utilize it productively and not let it go to waste. Time spent on being inactive is one
of the reasons of being late. With time utilized successfully, it can maintain a
strategic distance from tardiness and be an apparatus of accomplishment.

“Better late than never,” is a tagline that became famous for its humor and
wit. However, despite its humorous attempt, it still does not change the fact that
tardiness is something that we should not practice because of its effect on the trait
and perception of an individual. Tardiness becomes a hindrance in person’s success.
An individual is most likely to miss significant events that are prerequisite to his or
her responsibility. The best way to prevent tardiness is to plan things ahead of time.
The most ideal approach to forestall tardiness is to prepare on time.

In conclusion, students or workers who are always tardy should not be

tolerated but corrected. We have all experienced tardiness at least once in our
lifetime. Nonetheless, pursuing punctuality with discipline within oneself will lead
to a better path. Today’s reality is not just all about the “better late than never”
culture because it is focused on the improvement of society; a step closer to
productivity, discipline and punctuality is what we must attain.

Taking everything into account, students or workers who are constantly late
ought not to go on without serious consequence yet rectified. We have all
accomplished tardiness at any rate once in our lifetime. In any case, seeking after
reliability with discipline inside ourselves will lead us to a better place. A bit nearer
to efficiency, order and promptness is the goal that we should accomplish.
