Based on my learning, approximately one third of the world use social media. When it comes to
technology, social media is changing the way we communicate and the way we are perceived, both
positively and negatively. Nowadays, social media have become an important aspect of our development
as human beings and everyday more people are spending much of their time on these type of media than
ever before. Social media was invented for the sole purpose of being able to express yourself online and
to be able to stay connected with those you care about. But we all know that one of the main role of
social media is to make an easy access to delivered information that help us be informed about pretty
much everything. Through social media we shared our feelings or experience in a certain situation. Some
of the example of social media are facebook, twitter, instagram, and youtube which is very popular in our
generation. We can’t deny that we used this kind of social media for communication and gathering
information in different fields. Also in social media there are possibilities to discuss about different
challenges that we encounter in our everyday lives. Therefore, more people share their opinions and

actions, security, and confidence. While social media has brought us many positive traits, it has also
robbed us of some. It has robbed people’s ability to find trust and comfort in one another, replacing our
need for warm, supportive interaction and fellowship with a virtual, hollow connection. It has robbed most
youths from the ability to flourish in a physical, social interaction. It tends to bring low self-esteem, and
