Technology is the application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes and the newest core of

our lives. One of the most known technologies these days is the smartphone. these Smartphones are
a class of mobile phones and of multi-purpose mobile computing devices. They are distinguished
from feature phones by their stronger hardware capabilities and extensive mobile operating systems,
which facilitate wider software, internet, and multimedia functionality (including music, video,
cameras, and gaming), alongside core phone functions such as voice calls and text messaging.
According to an article posted by “Businessinside.com” on Jun 14, 2015 people didn't start using the
term "smartphone" until 1995, but the first true smartphone actually made its debut three years
earlier in 1992. It was called the Simon Personal Communicator, and it was created by IBM more than
15 years before Apple released the iPhone. Now, these technologies are very useful in our lives, it
eases our everyday tasks but are they safe and trusted with our privacy?

First of all, there are some components that are installed by the companies to spy on us and have
access to our conversation, personal information and data. Who knows if they are selling them to
foreign intelligence agencies and government agencies. For example, there was a problem between
the US government and Huawei the Chinese company for gathering data of US citizens and giving
them to Chinese intelligence. Recently, there were photos of smartphones that are being used by the
presidents of the most powerful countries, the important thing is that these mobiles are very special
because they don’t have any camera. These examples prove that our photos, videos, and personal
information are not safe. Also, most smartphones are powered by Google. Google has a new feature
like the famous SIRI that by only saying “OK Google”, even if your phone screen is off, it responds. On
top of that, there are” Cookies” which save your top searches and website visits to show you ads.
There is also FaceApp and Telegram that sends the data of the user’s phone to Russian Intelligence.
Likewise, Facebook and every app that is under the name of the American company gathers
information of each of its user and after the trial that was held a few months ago to the CEO of
Facebook Mark Zuckerberg, they are probably are going to be accessible to the FBI, CIA, NSA and the
US military. To justify, a few years ago, an image of the personal laptop of the founder of Facebook
and the webcam was covered with tape.

Now the conclusion of this is that we should be very careful with our data because it can be the end
of us in the wrong hands.
