NOTICE OF VACANCY

The Rancocas Valley Regional High School (RVRHS) District serves five sending districts
covering approximately 40-square miles in Burlington County: Eastampton, Hainesport,
Lumberton, Mount Holly and Westampton.

Situated on a picturesque campus in Mount Holly, NJ, RVRHS meets the education needs of a
diverse student body of about 2000 students in grades 9 through 12.

In accordance with the Board/Association agreement, Rancocas Valley Regional High School
District has the following extracurricular activity staff vacancy posted:

Marching Band Director

2019-2020 School Year

Requirements:
• Valid New Jersey Instructional Certificate or eligibility
• Demonstrated knowledge of the particular activity and related experience as determined
by the Board.
• Ability to foster and sustain students’ interest in the activity and promote skill
development
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Required criminal and sexual misconduct/abuse history background check and proof of
U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status

Responsibilities:
• Organizes and supervises a series of regularly-scheduled extracurricular activities for
students after school hours, manage related ECA staff and volunteers
• Collaborates with Supervisor, Director of Instrumental Music, and other pertinent staff to
maintain cohesion throughout the program
• Attends all activity meetings and in-school events and supervises students on related field
trips and other out-of-school functions
• Ensures safety of students and maintains responsibility for the security of equipment and
facilities
• Prepares the activity budget, order necessary supplies and equipment, and maintain
records related to activity expenditures and revenues
 • Responsible for the collection, deposit of payments, payment of bills, and financial
reporting in accordance with statute, administrative code and board policies and
regulations
• Arranges any necessary transportation or scheduling of competition officials related to
the activity
• Evaluates the program annually and makes recommendations for improvements as
necessary
• Plan and develop field show for competitions
• Performs other duties related to the student activity as assigned
