CHANAKYA IN YOU

Management Development Programme

Held on 20th and 21st February 2015

St. Francis Institute of Management & Research organized an MDP (Management


Development Program) on leadership and strategy ‘Chanakya In You’ in order to invoke latent
talent in the participants and put into practice strategies and ideas which generate positive
outcomes to business, the economy, the environment and society.

St. Francis Institute of Management & Research (SFIMAR) was established in 2002 by The
Society of the Congregation of Franciscan Brothers’ to impart quality and value-based
education in the field of Business Management. It is recognized by AICTE, New Delhi and has
been granted permanent affiliation by University of Mumbai. SFIMAR is an ISO 9001:2008
Certified Institute and also recognized under Section 2 (f) & 12 (B) of UGC Act 1956.

SFIMAR Director Dr S S Mohanty in his inaugural address mentioned “We at SFIMAR groom
management leaders for the future and therefore endeavour to bring high-quality learning
programmes on subjects that are important to industry and society. Through Programs such
as ‘Chanakya in You’, we educate, engage and empower. By doing so, we promote thought
leadership, encourage participants to deliberate on best practices and lead by examples which
can find practical usage in establishing both profitable and ethical business organizations.”
The programme was facilitated by none other than Dr Radhakrishnan Pillai who has authored
the book ‘Corporate Chanakya’. Dr Pillai is also the Director of Chanakya Institute of Public
leadership, Dept. of Philosophy, University of Mumbai and winner of the 2009 Sardar Patel
Award.
The program also included thought sharing by eminent speakers like Former Police D.G.
Mr. D. Sivanandhan and Dr. K.P Sasidharan, the Director General, Office of Comptroller and
Auditor General - India. Mr. Sivanandhan spoke on leadership, using his vast experience as a
leader in the Maharashtra Police Service. He gave a deep insight into the do’s and don’ts while
aspiring to be a good leader.

Dr. Sasidharan shared his hands on experience in dealing with corporate greed and ethics. The
feedbacks received from the 30 odd participants attending the programme was excellent. The
program was conducted in association with Shemaroo Entertainment Limited and sponsored
by Wockhardt Limited.
