Standard Addressed: MGSE6.RP.1 Understand the concept of a ratio and use ratio language to
describe a ratio relationship between two quantities.

Amount of Time: 30 minutes

Technology Standard Addressed: 3- Knowledge Constructor
SAMR Level: Modification
Essential Question(s): Do the students understand a proportion to a ratio? Can the students
teach each other what a proportion is? Can the students pass the quiz after watching the
video?
Learning Activity: I require the students to watch and understand the video. After the students
watch the video, they will go over the other activities that go along with the video and after
they will take the quiz to test their understanding. The students will also go over the vocabulary
associated with the video. If the students want, they can play the games that they have on
BrainPOP that goes along with proportion.
Once the students finish the video and activities along with the test; I will go over any
questions that the students have for me that they didn’t get answered in the video. This will
allow the students to get more information about the subject that they haven’t yet
comprehended.

• Introduction: The students will watch and take notes during the video. After the video the
students will go through the other activities that go along with that video.
• Instruction/Activities: Once the students finish all the activities the students will do the quiz
and go over the vocabulary that correlates to the video.
• Final Product: After the students have gone over the video and activities the students will
take a quiz over the information that they gathered over that period of time.
• Evaluation or deliverable: Their evaluation will be over how the students do on their test.
Reflective Practice
I could’ve used a different video other that proportion to test where the students are doing in
the class. I could’ve also had them watch and do the activities of multiple videos so they can
cover more subjects.
