POK CHALLENGER OFFICIAL NOZZLE
This nozzle is specifically designed with the rugged action of The Firefighter Combat Challenge
in mind. The Firefighter Combat Challenge is an event that not only challenges the best of
the best in our American heroes but also vigorously tests in one single event, the equipment that
would take a normal department years of service to account for the same usage. During one event
the challenger hits a target with the Official POK Nozzle under pressure in which the nozzle is
repeatedly dragged and dropped for several hours. This is the exact reason why The Firefighter
Combat Challenge came to POK for the design and development of a special nozzle
specifically for this event. The Firefighter Combat Challenge knows that no other company
besides POK would design or was selling a nozzle that would withstand this single hard-hitting event
without requiring maintenance or repair!
The Challenger Official Nozzle is made of a durable stainless steel shutoff with an ergonomic
silicone pistol grip and a ½” smooth bore tip in heat treated aluminum alloy. Several Fire
Departments throughout the nation have already recognized it and adapted it as the standard
among their primary attack nozzles.

ten year scoreboard dream was made possible by
POK and SUPERVAC who donated the CROWN
JEWEL to the FIREFIGHTER COMBAT
CHALLENGE?
A gigantic 8' x 8' LED-powered, animated Challenge

scoreboard is now a showpiece for all to see. The 400-
pound unit hangs from the top of the Challenge tower via a
specially fabricated swivel arm and is controlled by a laptop
computer. Everyone on the course is now able to see the
names and numbers (even in bright daylight) of any
competitor currently on the course. Additionally, important
messages can be flashed to all - eliminating one of the
complaints frequently heard at the Challenge: "I couldn't
hear my name being called."

AUTOMATIC GALLONAGE
Nozzles in Hardcoat Anodized Aluminum and PTFE
The LEGENDE offers a durable, lightweight automatic gallonage nozzle with the features that you are
looking for. Machined out of high-grade aluminum alloy with the trademarked NITUFF™ finish that
gives 50 microns of PTFE impregnated anodized unlike the 20 microns of standard anodized.
Features a wide flow range from 10 to 250 GPM at 100 PSI. Newly engineered design totally
encapsulates the stainless steel piston valve from the environment. Neither dirt, sand, frozen water
or other debris on the inside of the nozzle will prevent you from switching between the multi-position
flow settings using the handle.
With a quick half turn of the bumper

guard the nozzle will go from full fog to
straight stream and flush, all without
having to shut down.
The LEGENDE also offers customizing

with color-coded pistol grip and type of
teeth. Comes standard with a black
bumper guard and pistol grip.

high-grade aluminum alloy with the trademarked NITUFF™ finish that gives 50 microns of PTFE
impregnated anodized unlike the 20 microns of standard anodized.
Features a wide flow range from 15 to 250 GPM at either standard or low pressure. Easy to operate
knob for standard (100 PSI) or low pressure (50 PSI) selection. Newly engineered design totally

250 GPM in a 1.5” and 2.5” size. All sizes come with a double ball bearing
swivel for ease in connection and use. A key feature of the
TURBOKADOR is its ability to be easily changed from straight
stream to narrow fog to wide-angle fog to flush without having
to shutdown with the massive rubber-like bumper guard.

The fermentation process existing in a silo can

generate extreme heat that may cause combustion
and/or a fire. The suspended dust in the air inside
the silo can also create a major explosion. The
GERICO nozzle has been designed to allow the
injection of water from a piercing head, very similar
to our traditional piercing nozzle family. The
GERICO nozzle was initially designed for a specific
application, however we found that the GERICO
can be utilized for trash fires found in incinerators,
tire fires, peat moss and hard to reach places.
The "GERICO" is available with extensions of 3

meters / 10 feet where several can be used
depending on the application and the need.

WILDLAND NOZZLES
The Wildland nozzles offer a durable, lightweight constant or selectable

gallonage nozzle with the features that you are looking for. Machined
out of high-grade aluminum alloy with the trademarked NITUFF™ finish
that gives 50 microns of PTFE impregnated anodized unlike the 20
microns of standard anodized. The standard shutoff ball is also coated
using the NITUFF process, which provides years of smooth action with
minimal wear.
The ROBATFLAM and WILDLAND single grip offers flow ranges from 5, ROBATFLAM
10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 32, 37, 40 or 60 @ 100 PSI in a 1.0” and 1.5” size.
The TURBOLITE is selectable gallonage nozzle and have a unique die
cast aluminum body for lighter weight and durability and available in a
1.0’’ or 1.5’’ inlet. A built in stream shaper/strainer is also available on
every model. Large bumper guard allow to be easily changed from
straight stream to narrow fog to wide-angle fog to flush without having
to shutdown. Customizing with color-coded bumper, pistol grip and
shutoff handle as well as type of teeth available on some style. Comes
standard with a black bumper guard and black pistol grip. All Wildland

from 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 32, 37, 40 or 60 @ 100 PSI in a ¾’’ or
1.0” inlet. The dual gallonage offers a choice of 10-24 GPM or 20-
60 GPM by a simple twist of the tip in ¾’’, 1.0’’ and 1.5’’ inlet.

FOAM ATTACHMENT and SELF-EDUCTING
The Series 3000 foam tubes attach easily to the master

steam nozzle by inserting the four quick connector pins
(permanently installed on the attachment) into the keyhole
slots located on the nozzle ring. Then just a short
counterclockwise twist of the foam attachment results in
automatically activating a spring loaded locking system to
secure the foam attachment to the nozzle.
To remove the foam attachment pull on the ring located on

the spring loaded lock. Then a short clockwise twist lines up
the quick connector pins in the keyhole slots. Finally just pull
the foam attachment away from the nozzle.

Aspirating: A nozzle that physically draws air into the nozzle body through air inlet holes by a modified

Venturi: A constricted portion of pipe that increases water velocity and creates vacuum to draw the foam
concentrate into the water stream.
Residual Pressure: The pressure existing in a line at a specific flow.

Pick-up Tube: A clear tube that will be used to draw the foam concentrate form the container.
Eductor: A proportioning or mixing device which uses the Venturi principle to draw the foam concentrate at
a specific percentage from an atmospheric foam concentrate storage vessel.
In-Line Eductor: An eductor that will be mounted at the side of the pump, between hoses or directly at the
inlet of the nozzle.
By-pass Eductor: An eductor that will be mounted at the side of the pump, between hoses or directly at
the inlet of the nozzle that will allow water to flow through a by-pass device without drawing any foam
concentrate form the pick-up tube.
Proportioner: A device, such as an eductor, that draws foam concentrate at the proper ratio into the
fire/water stream.
Friction Loss: The amount of energy lost by water traveling through the hose. The amount is measured by
the pressure difference between pump pressure and nozzle pressure.
UNDERSTANDING
FOAM EDUCTORS
Eductors are pre-engineered systems that are tested at a specific inlet pressure for operation; 200 PSI is the testing
pressure. The reason that the inlet pressure is higher than at normal testing pressure of 100 PSI is typically the loss in
creating the vacuum necessary to pull the agent concentrate into the metering valve. The pressure at the outlet of the
eductor is called the back- pressure. The actual back-pressure at the eductor is the combination of the friction loss in the
hose, the nozzle pressure and perhaps the elevation loss. POK is the only manufacturer that provides a range of eductors
with the pressure drop as low as 20%. This will minimize the back-pressure of your eductor, which allows you to work at a
much lower pressure. Please contact us for more information on these products.
BEFORE YOU EXECUTE YOUR LAYOUT WITH YOUR FOAM EDUCTOR:
1. Ensure that your inlet and outlet coupling at the eductor are of the same thread.
2. Ensure that the eductor is free of any debris in the waterway.
3. Ensure that the check valve at the inlet of the pick-up tube is free. If it is stuck to the wall, it may require that you
rinse it with fresh water.
4. Ensure that your nozzle or your specific foam nozzle is of the same GPM as your eductor.

5. Ensure that the arrow on the eductor is pointed in the right direction of the flow prior to attaching your hoses.
6. Ensure that the gasket between the pick-up tube and the eductor is properly in place and secure. If there is any suction
of air, the agent concentration will be unbalanced.
7. Ensure that diameter of the hose between the eductor and the nozzle are of the same diameter or greater. It is
extremely important to run a test if you require greater distance. The actual back-pressure at the eductor is the
combination of the friction loss in the hose, the nozzle pressure and perhaps elevation.
8. Couple your hose layout from your water supply to the eductor.
9. Couple your hose to your nozzle.
10. Set the desired concentration % at the eductor. Consult the specification of the manufacturer of the agent.
11. Open the water supply and verify that you have the proper pressure and the reach that you want to achieve.
12. Ensure that the pick-up tube is aspiring properly by momentarily placing it in the agent container.
13. Just place the pick-up tube in the agent concentrate container when you are ready to produce foam concentrate.
AFTER YOU EXECUTE YOUR LAYOUT WITH YOUR FOAM EDUCTOR:
1. Be sure that you follow the agent manufacturer recommendations for cleaning up.
2. Ensure that you rinse the nozzle thoroughly with fresh water, your hose, your foam eductor, the check valve and the
pick-up tube prior to storage.
ENSURE THAT YOU FOLLOW STORAGE PROCEDURES AND RECOMMENDATIONS FROM THE AGENT MANUFACTURER.
Common Causes of Improper Proportioning
Not enough water flowing through the eductor or pressure. Nozzle elevation too high, too much back-pressure.
Mismatched nozzle GPM vs. Eductor GPM. Clogged metering device, check valve or pick-up tube.

These foam eductors operate according to the Venturi

principle @ 200 PSI. As the pressurized water passes through
the tip of the convergent pipe, a suction effect is created and
the foam concentrated liquid is drawn up. The eductor is

These eductors are made primarily of aluminum alloy in a heat-treated, hard anodized of 50 microns
with a fire engine red epoxy finish or in Bronze. Other components are made of aluminum alloy with
the trademarked NITUFF™ finish that gives 50 microns of PTFE impregnated anodized.
These eductors operate according to the Venturi principle @ 200 PSI. As the pressurized water passes

There are three major types of tanks commonly used for the storage of combustible or flammable liquids.
· Cone roof tank.

· Open top floating roof tank.
· Internal floating roof tank or covered floating roof.
The fixed or semi-fixed system from POK is a type II discharge device. The foam maker is used to aspirate foam
concentrate before being discharged inside a dike area or when used with external floating roof tanks to supply foam to the
rim seal area. The discharge pipe downstream of the foam maker is sized to slow the velocity of the expanded foam and
shaped to deflect the foam against the inside of the dike wall or onto a splash board, or the tank shell wall when used for
floating roof seal protection. POK offers four styles ranging from 26 to 105 GPM / 100 to 400 l/min. The expansion rate is in
direct relation to the foam quality. A good foam quality is obtained with a pressure of 100 PSI / 7 bar where a ratio of 8 can
be obtained.
To ensure maximum protection for the rim seal of the tank, we recommend that a splash board be mounted above the top
of the floating roof. The correct discharge size pipe will then provide a better foam quality in a circular form around the rim
seal. It is also recommended that a detection system be installed to ensure automatic operation of
the foam systems.

foam maker is usually installed in a dedicated fire protection line outside the dike area.
This method is not suitable on tanks containing alcohols or polar solvent type liquids that are miscible in

THREAD CHART
If a thread gauge and caliper are not available, and a sample cannot be sent, the following method
can be used to obtain the correct outside diameter and pitch of the thread needed.
1. Cut a strip of paper about 1.0” wide, long enough to wrap tightly around the circumference
of the male thread and overlap at the ends.
2. With a pin, pierce through both layers of the paper.
3. Press your thumb firmly against the thread hard enough to make a thread impression on the
strip.
4. Remove the strip and circle the pinholes on the strip with a pencil.
5. Divide the distance between the pinholes by 3.1416. The result is the ODM
(outside diameter of the male).
It is important that both the ODM and threads per inch (pitch) of the male part are given when
ordering. Always include the paper strip with your correspondence. If not specified, "V" sharp
thread will be furnished.

TERMS & DELIVERY: Net 30 days on rated accounts, FOB Cambridge, MD.21613
Subject to a late payment charge of 1.5% per month.
PRICES: Prices are subject to change without notice. All prices stated on our price list(s) are in US funds.
Backorders will be shipped at the price in effect on the day of shipment.
RETURN POLICY: It is the company’s policy to accept returned merchandise and issue credit subject to the following
conditions:
1. There are no refunds or cancellations on goods with special threads.

2. All returns must be approved prior to return and a return merchandise authorization number ( RMA ) must be obtained
and referenced when the goods are received.
3. All returned goods must be current items (less than 1 month) and in resalable condition.
4. A copy of the original invoice must accompany the returned merchandise.
5. A restocking charge of 25% is normally charged.
6. Credit will be issued subject to the restocking charge and inspection.
SHORT OR DAMAGED
SHIPMENT: We must be notified in writing within 10 days of shipment for any shortage or damaged goods.
PACKING LIST: Packing list shows quantity ordered, quantity shipped, and quantity on backorder.
CREDIT POLICY: It is the company’s policy to extend credit in amounts subject to the merits of the individual credit
applications. The company reserves the right to withdraw credit for unsatisfactory payment
performance. The company terms of net 30 days are strictly enforced.
MINIUMUM ORDER: In order to obtain trade discounts, placed orders must be in excess of $250.00 net,
otherwise list prices will be charged.
FREIGHT: Our terms are FOB Cambridge, MD. Truck shipments go COD, UPS is prepaid & billed.
Premium shipments may be made at the customers’ request.
CUSTOMER PICKUP: May be arranged for a customer to pick up their order. We respectfully request 24 hours prior
notice. In some cases this may be subject to applicable local sales taxes.

WARRANTY: We warrant POK of North America Inc. (“POK”) products for a period of ten (10) years after
purchase against defects in materials or workmanship. POK will repair or replace a product that
fails to satisfy this warranty. Repair or replacement shall be at the discretion of POK. Products must
be promptly returned to POK for warranty service. We will not be responsible for: wear and tear,
any improper installation, use, maintenance or storage, negligence of the owner or user, repair or
modification after delivery, failure to follow our instructions or recommendations, or other misused
activity beyond our control. Warrantor reserves the right to change the parts or design of its
products from time to time without notice, and with no obligation to maintain spare parts or to make
corresponding changes in the products previously manufactured. WE MAKE NO WARRANTIES,
EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, OTHER THAN THOSE INCLUDED IN THIS WARRANTY STATEMENT,
AND WE DISCLAIM ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY
PARTICULAR PURPOSE. Further, we will not be responsible for any consequential, incidental or
indirect damage (including, but not limited to, any loss of profits) from any cause whatsoever. No
person has authority to change this warranty.
