“INFLUENZA”

Influenza or flu is a disease caused by infectious virus that attack the respiratory system such as
nose, throat, and lungs. In some people, the influenza disease can heal itself, but in some people
influenza can also be death caused by complication from influenza. Influenza without complications
is defined by symptoms of cold, fever, and headache.

So, what's the difference between influenza and cold?

Cold and flu, both of them are the diseases that attack respiratory system, but both of them have
different caused and symptomps. in general, the syptomps of cold are lighter than influenza.
Influenza is caused by influenza virus, whereas cold is caused by hundreds of viruses and bacteria.

In general, influenza signs and symptomps include among:

Fever over 38C. Aching muscles. Chills and sweats. Headache. Dry, persistent cough. Fatigue and
weakness. Nasal congestion. Sore Throat.

People at higher risk of developing flu comlications include:

Young children under age 5, and especially those under 12 months. Adults older than age 65.
Residents of nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Pregnant women. People with weakened
immune systems. People who have chronic illnesses, such as asthma, heart disease, kidney disease,
an diabetes. people who are very obse.

Flu viruses travel through the air in droplets when someone with the infection coughs, sneezes or
talks. You can inhale the droplets directly, or you can pick up the germs from an object and then
transfer them to your eyes, nose or mouth. The symptoms of influenza can feel from the day or so
before symptoms first appear until about 10 days after symptoms begin. Children and people with
weakened immune systems may be contagious for a slightly longer time.

Antibiotics are used to kill the bacteria, not the viruses. So, doctors don't alwasys give the antibiotics
for cure the influenza, except the ifluenza has progressed become infection complications between
viruses and bacteria.
