QUESTION :

The same car used in our experiment with same weight, centroid and type. Start
from rest, the car accelerates from 0 to 90cm with different speed. Knowing that
the center of gravity for the car is 2cm high above the ground and assume that the
force that applied to the car are the same. Determine the normal forces and the
frictional forces in the tires at the instant when it start moving on the different
planes. The plane use is tiles, cement and wood.
• We convert the unit from cm to m :
• Mass, m = 300g = 0.3kg
• Distance travelled, s = 90cm = 0.9m

• First, we need to find the time taken by the car when it moves on
different plane with a constant force.
• ●
● T1 ● T2 ● T3 ● Tavg
● Type Time

● Tiles ● 1.41 ● 1.44 ● 1.45 ● 1.43

● Cement ● 1.31 ● 1.28 ● 1.30 ● 1.30
● Wood ● 1.20 ● 1.23 ● 1.19 ● 1.21
OBSERVATION
• From this experiment, we observe that the force of car after been pulled
back is not constant throughout the experiment. This is because the car’s
tyre itself is made of plastic which causes the tyre could not grip to the
surface appropriately just like the rubber tyre. When the tyre could not
grip to the surface, the tyre will not rotate even though been pulled back.
• As a result, there are slightly difference in terms of velocity of the car.
Other than that, we also observe the unconsistency of the car’s direction
when it travelled after been released.
• As it moving forward, the car will slightly move to the right or left rather
than travelled in straight line. Even though the car reach the final
checkpoint, there will be slightly difference in terms of distance travelled
by the car and this will affect the time taken for the car to travelled to
the final checkpoint.
• In order to get a fine result, the experiment need to be repeated multiple
times until the car travelled in a straight line.

CONCLUSION
• In this experiment, there are some errors occurred during the experiment.
The error likes human, parallax, environmental, and apparatus error
• We also achieve our objective and We also learn calculation method such
equation of method.
• After this experiment, we can say that wood surface have higher frictional
force than tiles surface and cement surface.
• We also learn a new things that is applying theoretical knowledge in real
life.
