Gardening provides numerous benefits in our life.

It improves our learning

about our concern to ecosystem. It ameliorates lessons on how students can
maintain a healthy lifestyle. Dish garden is an arrangement of different kind of
plants in a single container with certain miniature figures. It eliminates toxins in
the environment and leaving fresh oxygen that can help people to breathe easier.

It was the idea of Department of Education in promoting environmental

awareness. The purpose of this project is to awaken each and every one of us to
protect and preserve our natural resources. This project was led by the Science
and Mathematics Department and with the help of Mr. Mharvin Dalangin the
Science coordinator of the higher bed department. According to Mr. Dalangin the
science garden was part of advocacy for environmental protection and promotion
of healthy living. Also, it was a part of new curriculum, the Science and
Technology Education for Junior high school as preparation for Senior high
school. It was a collaboration of work from Elementary to Senior High School
Department. Before decorating the garden, Mr. Dalangin assigned the students
to bring materials needed to complete the project. The Elementary pupils were
assigned to bring pots and plants like flowering, herbal and aerial plants. The
Junior high school students provided the dish gardens or terrarium while the
Senior high school students were assigned to arrange the entire dish garden and
painted the other pots. Some dish gardens incorporated benches and pathways
that made the output look like a miniature park. They started decorating the pots
from morning until afternoon. They located the science garden near the canteen
area wherein the students can easily notice it. It was a nice location for gardening
because of the trees, temperature, light and the humidity of the air that can make
the plants grow healthier.

Having a science garden helps the students and the staff of the school to
be more productive in their job. They become active on what they are doing.
Seeing the garden make us more relaxed because the plants brings
peacefulness and refreshment that can reduce stress most especially to the
students. Let us all be aware and encourage everybody to support the advocacy
by sharing our environmental knowledge to everyone.
