 Picture, pencil, marker, bond paper , colored pencil or ( other coloring media)

IV. Procedure:
A. Pre- Activity

What is a One Page Comic book?
What is the composition of a One Page Comic?

B. Activity Proper
1. Motivation
Tell the feelings of the following emoticons.

Ask the question:

1. What do these emoticons express?


2. Will you show the feeling of sadness? Happiness? Excitement? etc.

2. Presentation and Discussion

Say:

Art elements and principles are the basic components of art activitieivities.
They serve as the foundation of every art work. In order for an art output to be
successful, intelligent use of the art elements and principles should be practiced.
Artwork can be analyzed according to the art element used.

1. Analyze the different comic books available.
2. Identify all the characters.

quality ingredients in an artwork to make your artwork great. The elements must be used as quality
ingredients in an artwork.

Activity 1: Identifying art elements used.

by the character.
 State the different art elements used to show
the emotions (example: How did you know
that Superman was angry?)
 Choose a panel from the comic strip that you
would like to edit and change emotion then
express the changed character.

Alternative Activity 8: Express Character Traits in a One-Page Comic
The term, comic book, derives from American comic book once being a compilation of
comic strips of a humorous tone. The first modern comic book, “Famous Funnies”, was released in the
United States in the 1930’s. In a comic art, there are sequential panels that represent individual scenes.
Panels are often accompanied by brief descriptive prose and written narrative. Comics are now
experiencing a revival as it is being written more for education.

Materials: ½ cartolina, bond paper for storyboard sketches, pencil, sign pens and coloring media

1. Use emoticons in building the characters of your comic.


2. Be sure to express their feelings by using the appropriate art elements.
3. Make your comic colorful and dynamic through the use of contrast and emphasis.

Broaden your Understanding

Comics will continue to endure its strong appeal to all ages. Comics will serve to link the more
literate society with the more visual society of the future.

There is another role of comic book in society. The “Champions of the Oppressed” are the
super heroes like Batman and Superman. There is a positivistic view into this; people are given hopes-
it reaffirms their faith in having a better future.
