Requirements The student is expected to adhere to the following course requirements :
 Regular class attendance
 Completion of all in-class and at-home assignments
 Active participation during in-class/group activities
 Completion of midterm and final exams.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:


Course  To introduce to the fundamental techniques and protocols of the two main
objectives wireless networks architectures, namely cellular networks (second and third
generation systems) and ad-hoc networks.
 To Study the fundamentals of wireless communications i.e., Antennas types;
radiation pattern; Antenna gain-propagation modes; Line of sight
transmission: Impairment; Fading in wireless environment and error
compensation methods; Capacity allocation: FDMA; TDMA; CDMA and
their combinations; Cellular Radio Technologies and networks: Architecture;
Organization; Frequency reuse; Operation; Functions; Handoff; power
control; traffic engineering; generation mobile networks. Switching and
