● Very basic computer models can be created using spreadsheet software, but most often
dedicated modelling software is used.
● Computer models use variable s and processes to create a representation of the real
world.

Visualisation of data
● Data visualisation is the graphical representation of data, with the goal of providing
the viewer with a qualitative understanding of the information presented.
● The main goal of data visualisation is to communicate information clearly and
effectively through graphical means.
● The main advantage of graphical output over output as tables of numeric data is that
a large amount of information can be displayed in a relatively compact form, using
colour and animation to help distinguish different types of data and changes over
time. This would be difficult to see in tables of numbers.
