BUSINESS BACKGROUND :
Philippines is a tropical country and because of
that Filipinos most likely jump into cold desserts. The
young entrepreneurs thought of a product that will
match the climate experienced in the country, something
warm and cold.
Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ lagoon has a famous
pancake and the young entrepreneurs thought that, why not upgrade it? Make the pancake
turn into a waffle, add cold dessert which is ice cream and some exciting toppings
depending on the customer’s choice.
The Wafele’ de sorbetes is a product made of waffle and ice cream topped with
customer’s choice, marshmallow, sprinkles, and chocolate syrup. Wafele’ comes from the
middle dutch; akin to Old High German waba or honeycomb.
The young entrepreneurs would like to take this opportunity to sell a product in the
market innovated from a pancake in the university’s lagoon to make a delicious dessert with
student-friendly price. The young entrepreneurs are qualified to pursue and sell the product in the
student market because it is easy to prepare and budget friendly.
