Title of research proposal:

“How effective are behavior change interventions based on theory of planned behavior”
Introduction:
This study depends Icek-Ajzen’s Theory of Planned Behavior to research “How effective are behavior
change interventions based on theory of planned behavior” on corporate level. This theory lies in the area
of psychology in human resource management which is said to be organizational behavior that is very
crucial for an individual of any post in the organization. In psychology, the theory of planned behavior is
a theory that links one's beliefs and behavior. The theory states that intention toward behavior, subjective
norms, and perceived behavioral control, together shape an individual's behavioral intentions and
behaviors. The variables are behavior (attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control).
Problem statement:
In this study, Icek-Ajzen’s (1988) theory of planned behavior provides a solid framework for exploring
an individual intentions towards behaviors, Icek-Ajzen’s (1988) model has received substantial research
support in recent years from social sciences (Ajzen’s 2016). The theory has been used successfully in
hundreds of different studies in the last two decades (Ajzen’s 2011), This study offers another
opportunity to test the model and apply it to a new area (On organizational level while testing the
theoretical and practical application of the Theory of Planned Behavior. According to organizational
context the variables are (job-satisfaction, self-efficacy and social-norms with organization citizenship
behavior)
Q#1 whether Job satisfaction is significant predictor of OCB?
Q#2 whether Self efficacy is a significant predictor for OCB?
Q#3 whether Social norms is a significant predictor for OCB?
Objectives:
The objective of the research is testing the theory of planed behavior and check that whether it can be
implemented at superior university employee or not.
Determine that Job satisfaction effect on OCB
Determine that self-Efficacy effect on OCB
Determine social Norms effect on OCB
Existing literature:
Many existing studies concluded theory of planned behavior according to organizational context, we are
exploring past studies; (Foote & Li-Ping Tang, 2008)This study indicates that relationship between the
job satisfaction and OCB will be moderate from the team commitment. If the team commitment is high
than the relationship will be strong. Results show that job satisfaction confidently connected to the OCB
when the employees have high commitment. Turnley, Gilstrap, and Suazo (2010); (Kim & Park, 2008)
said the self-efficacy is a confident relationship with POS and OCB and it’s important for nurses
organization success if the self-efficacy not in nurses organization so manager must to develop strategies
for POS and OCB. Bolino et al., 2013) sightsee the dark side of OCB in this he examine that some time
OCB may cause negative behavior on workplace that can decrease the overall performance of an
organization . OCB have confident relation with individual level OCB and organizational level OCB.
Confident OCB will increase the overall performance of an organization and customer satisfaction or
negative OCB will be resulted as low performance.
Methodology: The primary research method for this study is literature review identification relevant to
the context and secondary is the designing of a questionnaire and should be filled by the employees of
superior. Question adopt from “Fox et al. (2012)” to determine Social Norms and OCB relationship.
