Structured Lesson Plan in Science and Health III

I. Objectives:
Classify plants into flowering and non-flowering.

II. Subject Matter:


Unit Focus: PLANTS
Concepts: Plants have different characteristics. Many plants bear
flowers. These plants are called flowering plants. Some
plants that do not bear flowers are called non-flowering
plants.

Materials: worksheets/Activity Sheets, picture of plants/real plants

III. Learning Experiences:


A. Preparatory Activities
1. Drill:
Identifying the parts of a plant and their function.

2. Review:
Classifying plants according to the size, shape and color of
their leaves.

3. Checking of Assignment

4. Motivation:
Do you know what our national flower is? What
other flowers do you know?

B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation:
Present two plants, one that bears flowers and the
other do not bear flowers

2. Analysis and Discussion:


a.) What have you observe with the two plants?

b.) Describe the first flower (periwinkle) and the second


flower (kalipay).

c.) Explain what plants bear flowers called and so with


those that do not bear flowers.

d.) Provide more exercises in identifying flowering and


non-flowering plants.

Raise the picture of a flower if the plant


being shown is a flowering plant and
picture of a leaf if it is a non-flowering
plant.
