SUMMARY

CODE OF ETHICS FOR ENGINEERS

In the first part of the text, the author mentions important qualities that an engineer must
have, such as honesty, impartiality, equality, since he must ensure the well-being of people.
On the other hand, the article mentions some duties that an engineer has to fulfill; maintain
an honorable, ethical and responsible attitude. There are some work rules in the field of
engineering that those who exercise this profession have to comply with or can be exposed
to competent authorities. In the work rules the objective is that the practitioner of this
profession must ensure the safety of the people, warning if a structure is in danger of
collapse, not letting them use their signature without their consent, studying the construction
area before, not falsifying documents, not accepting money for hiring, presenting true
documents at the time of accountability to the contractors of the works, among these
objectively summarizes the rules in practice for the branch of engineering
The author also emphasizes the professional duties that an engineer must have; never
falsify the progress of the work or cover up bad activities among its employees, the engineer
must also treat his employees in an integral way, he must also work for civic interests such
as not cutting down trees or vegetation if he does not provide an environmental license, help
the development of communities, cannot work with materials that affect the community,
cannot have conflicts of interest, must be aware of their intellectual and physical abilities
when accepting a job, cannot do corrupt practices in the workplace and the When getting a
contract, among others these duties contain what the author lists in his article. Then this text
reads some NPSE committee bodies that refer to what has been said before in a summary
way and including the laws.
