Summary

I am a graduate (May 2016) of the University of Tennessee at Martin and am certified in Music K-12. I am
a native of Dyersburg, TN but lived most of my life in Trenton, TN. I have worked with many music programs in
my time either through cooperative teaching, private endeavors or full time teaching. These include placements at
Martin Primary School with K-3 General Music, Trenton Rosenwald Middle School 7th and 8th Grade band,
Westview High School Jazz Band, South Gibson County High School Band Summer Staff and Student Teacher,
Dresden Elementary Music and Special Education, Brighton High School Band Summer Staff, Medina Middle
School Music Student Teacher, and most recently as the Director of Bands at Lincoln County High School and the
Ninth Grade Academy in Fayetteville, TN as well as taking on an assisting role in each of the 5 feeding schools in
Lincoln County.
I take pride in being a versatile educator. Although my primary instrument of study and coursework has
been Tuba, I have taught front ensemble percussion, woodwinds, and all brass instruments in my time with various
ensembles and sung and performed across the United States with university choirs and symphonies. While attending
school full-time at the University of Tennessee at Martin, I was also a full time restaurant manager in Martin, TN.
This is to say hard work and perseverance are certainly not unfamiliar concepts to me and I will always be a driven,
charismatic, and goal oriented teacher. Currently, I am furthering my education as a second year Masters candidate
through Central Washington University studying at The American Band College during June and July each year. I
am not only a teacher but a lifelong student. Student success is first and foremost in my mind as a teacher, and it is
my job to employ high quality practices and current methods in my teaching to get them there.
