DDB, SDA Church holds program to update health directors on the Philippine Anti-Illegal
Drugs Strategy (PADS) and board regulations

The Dangerous Drugs Board, in collaboration with the Southern Asia-Pacific Division of the
Seventh-Day Adventist Church, will be convening to update Luzon-based health directors on the
Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) and relevant board regulations.

100 health directors from all over Luzon are expected to attend the program. The Seventh-Day
Adventist Church operates several hospitals in the country, and is part of a chain of more than
500 medical centers worldwide. With health as one of its main issues of concern, the SDA church
fully supports President Duterte’s campaign against drug abuse.

This initiative is in line with the intersectional and participatory approach of the PADS, which brings
together different public and private stakeholders through multi-sectoral collaboration to
safeguard the health and well-being of the Filipino people through proactive prevention strategies,
align existing policies with national and international protocols, implement anti-drug programs,
and form strong alliances with all agencies involved.

The Dangerous Drugs Board encourages other faith-based organizations to implement similar
programs in support to the government’s anti-drug advocacy.

The program will take place on 27-28 February 2020 at Century Park Hotel in Pasay City.
