A Brief Petitionary Offering to the Mātṛkā Pukkasī, Local Protectress of the

Jarung Kashor Stūpa

ན་མོ་པ་ཀ་ར་།
Namo padmākarāya

གཙང་མ་མད་གཏོར་བཤམས་ལ།
Arrange a clean offering bali.

རྃ་ཡྃ་ཁྃ་ ིས་བསང་ང་།
ram yam kham
Cleanse and purify it with raṃ yaṃ khaṃ,

ༀ་ཿ་ྃ་ས་ིན་བས་ལ།
om ah hung
And bless it with oṃ āḥ hūṃ.

ྃ། ལ་ི་ང་་བལ་པོ་ལ། །
hung, yul gyi ming ni balpö yul
Hūṃ! In the land named Nepal,

ར་ོད་ང་་ན་བ་བེགས། །
durtrö ming ni lhündrub tsek
In the charnel ground named Lhundrup Tsek,

མད་ེན་་ང་ཁ་ཤོར་གས། །
chörten ja rung khashor drak
At its famed stūpa the Jarung Kashor,

མ་མོ་མཚན་་་། །
mamö tsen ni pukkasi
Resides the mātṛkā named Pukkasī.

གནས་ལ་ོང་བ་མ་བོ་། །
neyul kyongwé tuwo ché
Great and powerful, you protect this sacred land,

དོན་ལ་དིངས་ི་མ་ན་ཡང་། ། 1
དོན་ལ་དིངས་ི་མ་ན་ཡང་། །
dön la ying kyi yumchen yang
And though ultimately the Great Mother of the Expanse,

མ་པ་ང་ོང་མ་མོ་ལ། །
nampa shyingkyong mamö tsul
You reveal yourself in manifold forms to those to be tamed,

གང་འལ་མ་འར་ར་ཡང་ོན། །
gang dul namgyur chiryang tön
Appearing as a mātṛkā, local protectress of the sacred site.

ོན་་ག་འང་་་ཀས། །
ngöntsé traktung heruké
Long ago, when the blood-drinking Heruka

དབང་་བས་ནས་ོགས་་བལ། །
wang du dü né drok su kol
Bound you and made you swear allegiance,

དིལ་འར་ན་པོ་གར་་གཏད། །
kyilkhor chenpo nyer du té
You became the custodian of the great maṇḍala.

བཀའ་་བན་པ་ོང་བར་བོས། །
ka yi tenpa kyongwar kö
Thus you were appointed to guard the Buddha’s teachings.

གཡར་དམ་་བན་ཐ་ག་ལས། །
yardam jishyin tatsik lé
Do not stray from your oath so promised,

་འདའ་ོ་ེ་ལ་འོར་མ། །
mi da dorjé naljorma
Natural expression of Vajrayoginī,

རང་ལ་མ་མོ་འམ་ེར་བཅས། །
rang tsal mamo bum der ché
With your retinue of hundreds of thousands of mātṛkās,

གནས་ནས་བལ་ལོ་ད་ར་གགས། །
né né kul lo datsur shek
I summon you from your sacred abode—come here now!

དེས་ང་བེ་བས་ར་ོན་ལ། ། 2
དེས་ང་བེ་བས་ར་ོན་ལ། །
gyé shing tsewé nyur jön la
Be delighted, and come swiftly out of affection!

བ་ང་མད་པ་གནས་འར་བགས། །
drub ching chöpé né dir shyuk
Take your seat at this place of practice and offering!

ི་མད་ར་ོད་ཚར་་དངར། །
chi chö nyerchö tsar du ngar
Outer offerings—perfectly arranged articles,

ནང་མད་འདོད་ཡོན་ིན་་གབས། །
nang chö döyön trin du tib
Inner offerings—cloud banks of sensual delights,

གསང་མད་ན་རཀ་གཏོར་ཚོགས་ངས། །
sangchö men rak tor tsok pung
Secret offerings—gatherings of amṛta, rakta, and feast balis,

ཡང་གསང་ོར་ོལ་བ་བ་། །
yangsang jordrol dewa ché
Innermost offerings—union, liberation and great bliss,

ཟད་་ས་པ་ལོངས་ོད་ིས། །
zé mishepé longchö kyi
With these inexhaustible enjoyments,

གསོལ་ལོ་མད་དོ་གས་དམ་བང་། །
sol lo chö do tukdam kang
I invoke you! I make offerings to you! May your wishes be fulfilled!

འགལ་འལ་ནོངས་པ་བཟོད་པར་གསོལ། །
galtrul nongpa zöpar sol
Please forgive my transgressions, confusions and faults!

ཡོན་ཏན་དཔལ་ལ་མན་པར་བོད། །
yönten pal la ngönpar tö
I praise the glory of your qualities,

་འལ་ང་མར་མངའ་གསོལ་ལོ། །
mindral sungmar ngasol lo
And honour you as a loyal ally.

ོན་ི་གས་དམ་ཞལ་བས་དངས། ། 3
ོན་ི་གས་དམ་ཞལ་བས་དངས། །
ngön gyi tukdam shyalshyé gong
Recall your previously made pledges,

གསང་ན་བན་དང་བན་འན་ེ། །
sang chen ten dang tendzin dé
And thus never waver from protecting

ས་འར་མད་ེན་གལ་ད་ོངས། །
chökhor chörten yelmé kyong
The great and secret teachings, their holders,
The Wheel of Dharma, and the stūpa.

་མན་ས་པ་ཚོགས་མས་སོལ། །
mitün nyepé tsok nam sol
Dispel all misfortunate and harmful circumstances,

མན་ེན་གས་ཚོགས་ང་་ོར། །
tünkyen lektsok gong du por
Increase all favourable and fortunate circumstances,

ེ་འོ་ང་བ་ད་ལ་ར། །
kyendrö nangwa gé la gyur
Turn living beings’ experience into virtue,

གནོད་ེད་འང་པོ་ཚར་ད་ག །
nöjé jungpo tsar chö chik
And annihilate all malevolent beings and spirits!

མདོར་ན་བདག་ཅག་ལ་འོར་ི། །
dorna dakchak naljor gyi
In short, carry out the activity

་བསམ་འབ་པ་ིན་ལས་མཛོད། །
chi sam drubpé trinlé dzö
Of accomplishing just as we yogis wish!

ས་པའང་པ་ར་འགས་ལ་་ས་ོ་ེས་སོ། །
