Product Description

Scratch Texture Finishes is a range of durable high-build Acrylic Texture Coating system. They
are trowel applied to produce horizontal, vertical, slant and Circular styles in several
thicknesses. These are usually over coated by Acrylic or Semi-Acrylic Emulsion Paint in two
coats. These finishes are used to decorate, restore and protect commercial and domestic
buildings. It is applied to interiors and exteriors.

These Texture finishes will give maximum water proofing to the structure because of its
coating system.
This is used to upgrade the appearance of a wide range of cementitious substrates,
providing economical and aesthetically pleasing long life protection.This scratch finish
has a proven track record having been in use for decades with many thousands of
successful projects.
The high-build film allows some surface imperfections to be filled, minimizing the degree
of surface preparation require.
These finishes are water-based for applicator safety and ease of use.
To achieve indicated performance, surface preparation must be carried out according to
the company recommendations.
The surface must be free from dust, dirt, grease, oil and other contaminants that may
interfere with adhesion.
Fresh cementitious substrates should be left for 14 days before coating.
These finishes are available only in single colour systems.
Scratch Texture finish is a 3 coats system (First coat will be Texture applied by a trowel,
the other two coats will be Acrylic or Semi Acrylic Paint coats will be applied with a
brush / roller).

Surface Preparation
Surface Preparation is the responsibility of the Builder, Renovator or Main Contractor and the
Applicator. To achieve the indicated performance, it must be carried out according to company s
recommendations. The surface must be free of dirt, dust, grease, oil, mould release agents,
bondbreakers and any other contaminants that may interfere with adhesion. Fresh cementitious
substrates should be left for 14 days before coating. There must be less than 15% moisture
Wood Equivalent in the surface at the time of coating to ensure optimum coating performance.

Application
It is recommended that application be carried out by a skilled applicator, who is totally
conversant with TC products and systems, to validate full material warranty conditions. After
thorough mixing, the material is applied using the stainless steel trowel and finished using the
Styropor float for Vertical and Circular style finishes. The stainless steel trowel is used to create
the Spanish style finish. Scratch is not suitable for walk-on surfaces.

Priming
Refer to TC's data sheets for mixing and application instructions.

Topcoating
Shape Semi Magic is specifically recommended as an overcoat in high pollution or heavy traffic
areas. For deep tones and accent colours, TC recommends the application of TC Semi Magic
paint Low-Sheen/Satin/Gloss.
