Cross Project Rubric

This project is worth 100 points and depends upon the successful completion of three tasks:

1. The Cross
2. Index Card
3. Oral presentation

Cross (50 points)


 Creative choice, and use of materials (10)
 Clear link to Scripture (10)
 The Cross Decoration Reflects your choice of Sacramental representation.(Personal,
Historic, Current Event) (10)
 Appears to be well made (not thrown together last minute) (10)
 Respect for other’s projects. Disrespect could cost you a loss of 100 points!

Index Card may be two sided 3X5 or 4X6 (25 points)


 Neatly Typed (5)
 Sacrament labeled (5)
 Scripture passage (5)
 Description of the cross: its meaning, what it is made of, scripture and sacramental
connection. The Description should be no more than what fits on the card. (10)

Oral/Video Presentation (25 points)


 Photo Journal of how you made your cross (time lapse movie no more than 1.5 minutes).

 Oral presentation is more than just reading your card. You must explain in detail the
material, the process of making the cross and what it means. (no more than 5 minutes,
this includes your video) (5)

Sacramental Representation: Choose a Sacrament that best ties into your choice of cross
(Personal, Historic, Current). You can decide which Sacraments best represents and connects to
your story.

Examples: Personal: my cousin’s drug addiction; Historic: The Civil Rights Movement; Current
Event: Hurricane relief.
