1. Why is there a need for educational planning?

Today, we are living in a fast changing world which comes with different challenges
and opportunities in our educational system. In line with this we need educational
planning for it plays a vital role in the developing of our society. It serves as an
instrument to make education more effective and efficient in responding to the needs of
education and to achieve the national goals. Planning in the education serves as a pattern
of action to the problem that is possible to arise in the future.

2. As a planner/administrator, how do you understand the term “educational

development”?

Educational development means the enhancement of the teaching and learning process to
provide and ensure quality education. It includes professional, instructional and
organizational development needed in order to attain productive and effective institution.

3. What do you think are necessary to bring about a feasible and workable educational
development plan in your region/division/district/institution?

To bring about a feasible and workable educational development plan , institutional

change or improvement should be given emphasis. Also, assistance program for teachers
and students should be a priority to strengthen the entire institution and to improve
educational practices.
