General Rules
• Each Participant can take part in a maximum of 2 sporting events, excluding Sportify!
• The SLS Sports Tournament accepts the registrations of only college teams, NOT university
teams.
• Each team is expected to report to their respective venue 45 minutes before their given match
time, and in case of a delay beyond 15 minutes from the scheduled match time, a walkover will
be granted to the opposition.
• The Organizing Committee will not be responsible for any player that has registered to play in
more than one sporting event or is missing an event due to any time overlaps in the schedule.
• Each participant must carry their college ID-Cards and any one Government ID-Card.
• Use of any kind of abusive language towards the referees/umpires will result in immediate
disqualification of the team from the event. The final discretion on such matters shall lie with
the Organizing Committee.
• Similarly, any use of abusive language or inappropriate behavior towards any player or
members of the Organizing Committee shall also result in the disqualification of the
participating institution from the SLS Pune Sports Tournament (discretion lies with the
Organizing Committee).
• We expect participants to maintain decorum on all sporting arenas, university campus, place of
accommodation and related areas.
Any altercations/misbehavior shall be dealt with strictly, and the decision of the Organizing
Committee in this regard is final. Please note that an altercation may result in the
disqualification of the participating institution from the SLS, Pune Sports
Tournament. The Convenor of the Sports Committee (SLS, Pune) reserves the right to change
the format or rules as may be necessary at any given point in time. He/ She shall also be the final
interpreter of the Official Rulebook, SLS, Pune Sports Tournament, 2020.
• After the registration, participants will be informed about the timings of the game via phone
call, text message or WhatsApp.
• Cross-teams are not allowed and players are required to submit their college ID-Cards before
the match. Without the same, participation will not be allowed.

EVENT: BADMINTON
Main Match
1. Only two bowlers will be allowed to bowl a maximum of two overs, while the rest can only
bowl one.
2. Matches will be played with Seasonal Ball.
3. Wide and no-ball will not be counted in the over and 1 run will be added to the scoreboard
for every no/wide ball bowled.
4. If a bowler bowls a no-ball (overstepping) the batting team will get a "FREE HIT". If a
batsman gets run-out on a free-hit ball, it will be considered as out.
5. If a bowler bowls 3 balls above the waist, he will not be allowed to bowl.
6. Byes, leg byes and overthrows will be counted.
7. LBW is allowed.
8. The decision of the umpire will be final and binding.
1. Category: Individual
2. Two-day tournament with 7-9 rounds in Swiss format.
3. Maximum of 3 participants are allowed to participate from one institute.
4. Sudden death time control: 25 minutes with no added time.
5. A player must not have any electronic device in his pocket. Mobile phones to be switched
off or kept in silent mode during the duration of the game. Any player caught with a phone
or if a player’s phone rings during the game, he or she will be expelled from the round and
the opponent automatically wins.
6. Winning a game nets 1 point, draw a half and a loss, none.
7. A score sheet will be provided to everyone and although it isn’t compulsory to write down
chess notation, it is highly recommended for proof. Apart from writing down your next
move on your score sheet, one is not allowed to make notes or write down chess analysis.
Also, one should not read chess literature during the game.
8. Touch-move and en-passant is to be respected.
9. Two illegal moves will result in automatic forfeiture of the game.
10. The player must approach the arbiter if he or she has any queries.
11. Rated players must register their ratings with the arbiter.
12. All events are subject to registrations and availability of the venues and decision of the
Organizing Committee will be final.
1. Category: Boys
2. Type of Tournament: Knockout, depending on the number of registrations.
3. A maximum of 16 teams shall be allowed to play in the tournament.
4. The teams shall consist of a maximum of 16 members (11+5).
5. All rules of FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) will be followed in
the tournament.
6. Each half upto the quarter finals shall run for 20 minutes; the same shall be extended to 25
minutes for semi-finals and finals.
7. Added time is to be provided at the discretion of the Referee.
8. In the event of a draw, a penalty shoot-out will take place. Both teams will take 5 penalties
each and if the scores continue to be level, it will go into a tie-breaker.
9. All events are subject to registrations and availability of the venues.
10. All decisions by the match referees and Organizing Committee will be final.
