GUIDELINES

I – Composition

 The presentation is open only for Grade 10 students of Cabaluay National High School
only.
 The number of participants must be the total number of their class population.

II – Category

 Grade 10 inter-class competition:


Only one group will be declared as the winner.

III – Yells/Cheers/Jingles

 Time
 Each year level shall be allotted with a minimum of (5) five minutes and a
maximum of (7) seven minutes to perform.
 The first and final sound that will be made shall signal the judges to set the time on
and off respectively.
 General guidelines
 Yells with movement, dancing without yells or combination and yelling.
 The movements stated above should be 5-7 minutes.
 All yells, cheers and jingles must not contain vulgar and obscene words.
 Pyramids are allowed at least (2) two levels only.
 No throwing or tossing of flyers/dancers.

IV – Costume/Attire

 Participants (Cheer Leader, dancer and yellers) are required to wear their costume during
their presentation.

V – Items/Device

 Pyrotechnic device, fire, megaphone, vehicles, balloons, and guns are strictly prohibited
during presentation.

VI – Trainer and Practices

 Trainers are ALLOWED to train the group.


 The maximum number of trainers is (2) two.
 All practices must have a supervision of the Mapeh teacher or your respective advisers.

VII – Sequence of Contestant

 For the sequence of the performance, drawing of lots will be done a day before the
contest.

VIII – Penalties

 Violation of any of the guidelines shall be penalized by the deduction of points from the
over-all score.
 Any participating team that goes beyond the time allotted for their presentation and
perform less than the minimum time given shall also incur deduction from their final
scores.

IX – Criteria for judging

 Choreography
(Stunts, Arm motion, and Dance) ------------------------------------- 25 points
 Synchronization and Timing
(Speed, formation and Transition) -------------------------------------25 points
 Musicality ----------------------------------------------------------------10 points
 Creativity and gimmickry------------------------------------------------15 points
 Over-All Impact
(Expression and Perfection)---------------------------------------------25 points

X – Rating

1. Expression
 Judge the squad’s ability to attract the crowd and grasp their hearts by expressing
cheerfulness, vitality, courage and courage, which are cheer dancing’s
characteristics. Bored, strenuous scary expression meaningless words and props
are not encouraged.
 Point to be aware of: facial expression, Voice inflection (Loud, clear and natural).
2. Arm motions
 Judge the sharpness, powerfulness, speed, and accuracy of motions. An important
part of judgment is weather everyone is synchronized.
 Point to be aware of: Motions (correct placement, angles, quick, sharp, powerful,
synchronized)
3. Dance
 Judge the sharpness, strength, cheerfulness, speed, accuracy and synchronization.
Must basically be able to attract the crowd, and must be fun, powerful, and have a
variety of moves.
 Point to be aware of: Accurate movements, synchronized, and move should be
clean.
4. Speed and Transitions
 Judgement of the squads speed moving from skill to skill and transition movements
are demanded. The continuation of transitional movements with speed produces
power and force, as well as beauty and magnificence which attract the crowd.
5. Synchronization
 All moves, spacing and height must be synchronized.
6. Overall impact
 Judge the overall visual effects presentation throughout the entire routine and the
precision of the squads moves as a whole. Synchronization of words and music with
motions/moves multiple formation, and overall rhythm is a great factor in the
squads ability to express in a creative and exciting manner. Formation changes and
transitions must be clean.
7. Perfection
 Judge the entire performance from an overall standpoint. Both perfection and
difficulty must be taken into account and routines executed are highly evaluated.
Routines that are poorly executed will not be highly evaluated even if it includes
high level skills, as falls and incompleteness will be subject to pint deduction.
 Point to be aware of: overall, perfections, overall choreography well done, squad
maintain balance, speed, continuity, difficulty, height, voice loud and clear, props
are used effectively, accurate landing, cleanness, power, balance and attractiveness
of skills.

Note: the decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
