INTRODUCTION

A Chatbot also known as Talkbot, Chatterbot, Interactive agent, Bot is a computer program.

It is an intelligent piece of software that is capable of communicating similar to a human.

Chatbots are used a lot in customer interaction, marketing on social network sites and
instantly messaging the client.

There are two basic types of chatbots models based on how they are built;

 Retrieval based Chatbots-


A Retrieval based Chatbots uses predefined input patterns and responses. It uses
some type of heuristic approach to select the appropriate response.
 Generative based Chatbots-
Generative models are not based on some predefined responses.

Chatbot are not very new, one of the foremost of this kind is ELIZA, which was created in
the early 1960’s.

 Chatbots can be used to assist users or customers for a specific task, whenever they
want.
 It has become necessary to solve the queries and problems of the customers.
 Improved the customer services.
