LOCATION:
Roads are the dominant in total image of city as it function as circulation. The Subject Road
corridor is in Gulmandi,Aurangabad. It is the main route ,starting from Paithan gate and leads
upto City Chowk

Type and nature of economic activities that take pace along the subject corridor.
The study area is characterized by typical narrow lanes,
colorful shops and old, dilapidated buildings which are
peculiar features of Indian old cities.
This economical hub, lies at the centre of the city of
Aurangabad. It has been a vibrant market place for generations.
The major economic along this corridor are clothes market
,flower market etc. Various kinds of Hawkers throng the road.
This scene is on the verge of change, due to introduction of retail
chains, big box stores and malls. So, it becomes very important
to strengthen the place and help it stand the test of time. So that
it can regain the status of heart of the city and improve the
quality of life of its inhabitants.
GOOD QUALITES
 Strong axis of continuity to city center.
 Well connected to the surrounding areas.
 Active multi land use.
 Multi cultural & religious social fabric crates a SAFE environment.

BAD QUALITES
 No segregation of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
 Illegal businesses – Hawkers
 No order in signages – Visual Pollution .
 No adequate Parking

Haphazard parking on the axial roads leads to reduction in the effective use of the road

its inhabitantsThe prominent roads in the Gulmandi area are plagued with heavy
congestion and lack of movement, a lot of hawkers can be seen in the spaces meant
for pedestrians. Also, the road width is not sufficient enough for heavy vehicles.
