The Effect of Modernization

A long ago before human started walked the earth the world is still pure and away
from destructions. Animals and plantations grow and could live happily without have to
breathe such bad oxygen that we consumed nowadays. In the past, animals thrive so
rapidly without have to afraid for being haunted; plantations are everywhere provides
places for animals to live in. unfortunately, a nicely place that we called as “home” has
significantly change not because of animals or maybe plantations. It is us “Human” that
brings miserable for much kind of creatures that live in on earth. In my opinion the
existence of us “Human” makes the world jump to the next level of destruction. In this
modern era, people compete for modernization another word for “destruction”. indeed,
it is has advantages for human life for instance people cut lot of trees in order to make
cities which is our home but we also have to consider its negative effect to our
environment.

First, if we talk about modernization we can imagine lot of building of

skyscrapers has been standing out represent the progress of a good economy of a city.
But I think modernization has lead human behavior become unaware to see what
actually the consequences of their actions. They are keep cutting the trees to build the
cities grows up. But if we look carefully the trees is one of the important things that we
have to keep its sustainability. Because if we do deforestation again and again only to
satisfy our hunger for free lands to build new cities, new industrials areas and etc. the
impact will soon we can see and feels into our life. For instance, the rising temperature
of the earth (our planet) has rapidly increased in the past few decades due to human
action for deforestation. Moreover, the increasing of earth’s temperature has
significantly affected the ice berg in the North and the South Pole melted. I think we can
guess what will happen next if these two poles that produced a lot and big amount of ice
berg melted. It is surely that the city which took place on the coast or in low land will be
threatened to be sink.
Second, I think that modernization also trigger the development any kind of
industrials. We cannot separate industrials expansion from modernization both of them
is sharing the same characteristic. These days, industries have expanded so rapidly from
food industries until textile industries. The existences of many industries bring another
problem to the environment. Once again human failed to act wisely toward Mother
Nature. People make industries and get the benefit from it but forget to think about how
industrial waste has change the environment, how industrial waste has change and
become another problem that could threaten the human health. However, the effect of
industrial waste not also affect human but animals as well. The irresponsible action that
the industries done because of throwing their trash to the ocean or to the river.
Unfortunately, make the aquatic creatures such fish has lost their home. The poison
water killed the coral reef the place where the lot of fish lives in. For the worse, the
industrial waste poisons a thousand of fish to death and the rest of the fish that survive
and able to continue life they will bring another dead wish to us. Imagine that we
throwing poison to the water (industrial waste) and then the fish eat that. The next day,
fisherman catch that fish sell it to the market. As a result lot of people will buy the fish
and eat it this automatically will affect to human health. No wonder that in this era
many of new diseases emerge and we could not find the cure.

The third, an endless pollution is another problem that we have to face these days
as a result of modernization. We all know that many of cars industries compete for
producing cars. They also make cheaper prize to the costumer so everyone could have a
car. It means lot of car will produce lot of pollution to the air and brings another affect
for both human and animals. This pollution has already brought destruction too the
ozone layer makes it become thin day by day. The ozone layer is very important thing to
the planet especially to creature that lives on earth. Ozone layer protects us from direct
heat that produces from the sun. If we kept make lot of cars or others transportation
without searching for alternatives we are going to make doomsday come earlier. We as
human that given critical thinking should be wisely behave to Mother Nature. There
have been lot of victim both human and animals happen because of the increasing of
earth’s temperature toward air pollution that makes ozone layer become thin as time
goes by. The current accidents happen in India only few years ago many people died
that causes by the heat wave. According to New York Times, One of India’s longest and
most intents heat waves in decades, with temperatures reaching one hundred twenty
there degrees has claimed at least thirty six lives since it began in May. That is
happening only because of our ozone layer become thin, imagine if it disappears. Truly,
human race will remain history.

In conclusion, in my opinion we as human that given critical thinking by god

should be nicely behave to Mother Nature. We have to aware that how important trees
are in this life, because everything has their own functions to this life. Trees has
function to keep the earth still convenient to live in. trees produce oxygen that we
breathe in, as human we have to aware of this. Moreover, please treat nature nicely do
not throw your trash, your industrial waste to the ocean. Because it will bring
destruction to the environment, fish will lose their habitat. We have to remember that if
we do bad thing we will gain bad thing in the return. The last but not least please do not
be greedy and consider the consequences before you make decision.

Dahulu kala sebelum manusia mulai berjalan di bumi keadaan dunia ini masih asri
dan jauh dari kehancuran. Binatang-binatang dan tumbu-tumbuhan tumbuh bisa hidup
nyaman tanpa harus menghirup udara yang telah tercemar seperti sekarang. Dulu,
binatang-binatang berkembang sangat pesat tanpa harus takut diburu.; tumbuh-
tumbuhan ada dimana-mana menyediakan rumah bagi binatang untuk hidup. Tapi
sanagat disayangkan. Tempat yang nyaman yang kita sebut sebagai “rumah” telah
sangat berubah tidak karena binatang maupun tumbuhan. Itu terjadi karena kita
“manusia” yang telah membawa petaka bagi sekian banyak mahluk hidup yang ada di
bumi. Menerut pendapat saya, keberadaan manusia membuat bumi berada pada tingkat
kehancuran yang lebih tinggi. Pada zaman modern seperti sekarang, orang-orang
berlomba-lomba untuk melakukan modernisasi yang menurut saya merupakan kata lain
dari “kehancuran”. Ya betul, modernisasi banyak mempunyai dampak baik bagi
manusia contohnya orang-orang menebang pohon dan membuka lahan untuk
membangun sebuah kota tetapi kita juga harus memikirkan dampak negatipnya ke
lingkungan.
Pertama, jika kita berbicara tentang modernisasi kita bisa membayangkan
banyaknya gedung-gedung pencakar langit yang telah berdirih kokoh mempresentasikan
kemajuan economy suatu kota. Tapi menurut saya, modernisasi telah membuat manusia
menjadi tidak sadar untuk melihat dampak dari perbuatan mereka. Mereka tetap saja
menebang pohon untuk membangun sebuah kota maju. Tetapi, jika kita perhatikan
dengan seksama pohon merupakan salah satu hal penting yang harus dijaga
kelestarianya. Karena jika kita tetap terus melakukan pengundulan hutan seccara terus
menerus hanya untuk memuaskan rasa tamak akan lahan unutk membangun kota, area
industry baru dan lain-lain. Dampak nya akan langsung dapat kita lihat dan rasakan
dalam kehidupan kita. Misalnya, kenaikan suhu bumi yang telah menigkat sangat cepat
beberpa decade in yang disebabkan oleh tindakan manusia yang terus melakukan
pengundulan hutan. Terlebih lagi, kenaikan suhu bumi telah membuat gunung-gunung
es di kutub utara dan selatan mencair. Saya pikir kita bisa menebak apa yang akan
terjadi selanjutnya jika kedua seluruh es mencair. Pastinya kota-kota yang berada
dipesisr pantai atau yang berada di dataran rendah akan tenggelam.
 Kedua, menurut saya modernsasi telah memicu berkembangnya berbagai macam
industry. Kita tidak dapat memisahkan berkembangya industry dari modernisasi kedua
memiliki characteristic yang sama. Pada zaman sekarang, indusri berkembang sangat
pesat mulai dari industry makanan sampai industry textile. Keberadaan industri-industri
ini telah membawa dampak lain kepada lingkungan. Sekali lagi manusia gagal bertindak
dengan bijak terhadap alam. Orang-orang mendirikan industry-industri dan
mendapatkan keuntungan tetapi mereka lupa bahwa limbah dari industry itu sendiri
telah merusak lingkungan. Bagaimana limbah industry berubah menjadi masalah lain
yang dapat mengancam kesehatan manusai. Bagaimanpun, efek dari limbah industri tak
hanya berdampak kepada manusia tetapi binatang juga terkena dampaknya. Tindakan
yang tidak bertanggung jawab yang dilakukan industri seperti membuah limbahnya ke
laut ataupun sungai sayangya membuat mahluk-mahluk laut seperti ikan kehilangan
habitat nya. Air yang tercemar dikarenakan limbah industry juga menyebakan mati nya
terumbu karang yang menjadi tempat tinggal ikan-ikan. lebih parahnya lagi sampah
limbah industry meracuni ribuan ikan sampai mati dan untuk mereka yang dapat
bertahan akan membawa dampak lain kepada manusia. Bayangkan ketika ikan yang
telah teracuni lalu kita makan otomatis kita juga teracuni. Tidak heran jika zaman
sekarang banyak penyakit yang muncul dan belum ditemukan obatnya
Ketiga, polusi yang tidak ada kurang-kurangnya merupakan masalah lain yang
kita harus hadapi sebagai hasil dari modernisasi. Kita tahu bahwa banyak industry
berlomba-lomba memproduksi mobil. Mereka membuat harga yang lebih murah
sehingga lebih terjangkau untuk pembeli. Itu artinya lebih banyak mobil akan di
produksi dan lebih parah lagi polusi yang akan dihasilkan. Hal ini telah menyebabkan
rusak nya lapisan ozon. Lapisan ozon sangatlah penting karena berfungsi unutk menjaga
kita dari pancaran langsung dari panasnya matahari. Jika kita terus menambah polusi di
udara kita sama saja membuat hari kiamata dating lebih awal. Kita seharusnya dapat
berindak dengan bijak kepada alam. Telah banyak korban yang berjatuhan akibat dari
naik nya suhu bumi yang dikarenakan polusi udara. Coontohnya banyak nya korban
yang telah berjatuhan diakibatkan gelombang panas yang terjadi di india yang di
laporkan dari new yor times.
 Kesimpulanya, menurut pendapat saya kita sebgai manusia yang diberikan pikiran
haruslah bertindak dengan bijak terhadap alam. Kita harus sadar bahwa betapa
pentingnya pohon-pohon bagi kehidupan mengigat semua yang ada itu mempunyai
perannya masing-masing. Pohon-pohon membuat bumi tetap nyaman untuk dihuni
karena pohon memproduksi oksigen hal yang kita butuhkan setiap harinya. Terlebih lagi
perlakukan alam dengan baik jangan membuah sampah sembarangan karena itu akan
berdapampak buruk terhadap lingkungan. Kita tetap harus memikirkan konsekuensi dari
tindakan kita maka dari itu jangan lah tamak ataupun serakah.
