MedXSeries (Medical Chalk Talks) + Health Fair

Summary​:​ Our senior project will comprise of a MedX Series throughout the school year and will culminate with the
Health Fair which will occur during the day of the STEAM EXPO.
Roles
- Neomie- Community outreach for health fair + setting it up + pr(sponsorships)
- Jaya- coordinating the speaker series in HOSA to prepare club members for SLC
- Ruthie- Blood drive and educating people on the importance of blood donation
- ALL three- coordination with Miku and pranav who are responsible for the STEAM expo

Part 1: Speaker Series in association w/ HOSA


- The speaker series will introduce students around campus to principles and practices of research and medicine by
professionals in the healthcare field.
- This will help students around campus (maybe other schools if some speakers come after school) that are
interested in making posters for HOSA’s SLC (or career display boards) if they are in HOSA or if they
are just interested in presenting their findings or passions with the community during the Health Fair
- Examples of the wide array of healthcare or medical professions that would be covered:
- If there are various people under one category, a panel can be held so that there is diversity and various
perspectives

Part 2: The Health Fair


- Use the series to promote health fair
- Blood Drive- paperwork, getting the bus out, advertising
- Booth for “Healing Cards” or just writing cards for patients are a local hospital (Los Robles or CHLA or Cedar
Sinai or ALL three)
- Careers in Medicine: having both professional and students speakers and presenters from different demographics
that will showcase this research or passions for the medical field or healthcare
- Photo Booth because it’s fun and it’ll give a chance for the people who attended the event to remember it
forever…
- Yoga + wellness
- Arts and Craft or interactive booths that incorporate healthcare or medical topics so that small kids can learn little
bits and pieces of information about maintaining hygiene or preventing themselves from getting sick
